Dignitas vs TSM
TSM started out the game very aggressively around objectives. They got the first drake and also contested the first Herald. Although they got a 2-for-2 trade, the Herald went to Dig. TSM had a 1.5k lead and just took the second drake when decided to invade the enemy jungle, but they lost the fight and at the same time Gamsu got a solo kill top lane, pushing Dig to a 1k lead. Teams then traded some turrets, Dig mostly having an advantage of tempo. Using this advantage, they started the Baron and got a kill on a teleporting Huni. Despite the 4v5, TSM chased them through the enemy jungle and got punished for it, getting aced and giving the Baron.
Dig tried to end as they had Baron and a 4k gold lead and Huni was split pushing, but TSM managed to hold on at the first attempt. But just a minute later TSM tried to fight as they were on soul point, but the fight didn’t go well and they got aced a second time which was enough for Dig to end.
- Teams: Dig – TSM
- Time: 29:21
- Kills: 21 – 8
- Turrets: 10 – 3
- Gold: 59k – 52.1k
- Dragons: 1 – 3
- Barons: 1 – 0
Evil Geniuses vs Golden Guardians
We got one of the most interesting drafts of the Split in our second game of the day with multiple flex champions. The first blood also came in early befitting to the game, when Inspired ganked top at level two, but the bot pressure gave GG a five-minute drake. Despite a solo kill from Ablazeolive and the first Herald going to GG, EG had a 1.5k gold lead at nine minutes. EG was ahead 3.5k gold before the third drake, but Jojo got caught in a bad position which lead to four kills and a drake for GG, evening the gold difference. But due to a fed Inspired Kayn, EG got a good fight to got tie the drakes and got back to a 2k lead around 23 minutes.
EG then got a pick on Olleh, which allowed them to get the first Baron of the game. GG decided to engage on a sieging EG as they were on a big power spike. But with the Baron buff, a 7.5k gold lead and a very fed Inspired/Impact duo, the Geniuses turned the fight very quickly and ended the game.
- Teams: EG – GG
- Time: 28:45
- Kills: 16 – 8
- Turrets: 7 – 2
- Gold: 56.8k – 47.7k
- Dragons: 2 – 2
- Barons: 1 – 0
Cloud9 vs FlyQuest
What is that, two Yasuo games in a row?
We started with an all-in at the bot lane, an early level two from FLY meant they got the first blood for Johnsun. Just a minute later, another kill for FLY at bot, and even though C9 got a kill back at mid, FLY had an early 1k gold lead. And thanks to bot pressure, FLY got the first drake. They also got the first Herald after a mid kill, which was Aphromoo’s third one. While most of the FLY’s 2k gold lead was on Johnsun, it was enough for them to get a 17-minute Hextech Soul point uncontested. C9 wanted to fight for the soul, but Blaber got caught by a charm so they had to give it up, but FLY lead was still around 2.5k despite the soul.
C9 tried to find picks around the map, but FLY’s rotations were good so they managed to keep their leads. FLY then forced the Baron through a C9 contest, increasing their lead to 4.5k, just before the Elder spawned. Which they got after a great Jose kick. C9 had one last engage, but two buffs and an 8k gold lead were too big to overcome as FLY ended the game.
- Teams: C9 – FLY
- Time: 31:05
- Kills: 2 – 15
- Turrets: 2 – 9
- Gold: 50k – 61.6k
- Dragons: 0 – 5
- Barons: 0 – 1
Counter Logic Gaming vs Team Liquid
It was expected this game for the second place to start fast and CLG delivered with a great level one invade to put Contractz ahead. Despite their jungler behind ahead and getting the first blood at the bot lane, CLG overextended and gave a kill and first drake to TL. But they got the first Herald so gold was even at ten. TL fought for the second drake that CLG started, they stole it and got a kill, and just like that Contractz’s early lead was gone. CLG looked very uncoordinated before objectives and gave TL the Mountain Soul point.
Once again, before the soul drake, Contractz got caught and CLG still decided to pull TL to the Baron. Unfortunately for them, they were behind 5k gold so they got aced and gave up both the soul and Baron, extending TL lead to over 7k. Just before the buff ended CLG engaged on TL as they were 5v4, but even that wasn’t enough and they lost the game.
- Teams: CLG – TL
- Time: 27:15
- Kills: 4 – 17
- Turrets: 3 – 9
- Gold: 43.7k – 52.8k
- Dragons: 0 – 4
- Barons: 0 – 1
Immortals vs 100 Thieves
There wasn’t much early action in our last game of the week, except for some trading at the top lane it was mostly junglers doing full clears. Teams traded first objectives without contesting each other, Herald for IMT and drake for 100T. The first fight happened after 100T took the second drake. First blood plus another kill were claimed by Ssumday, who had a 30 cs lead and he put his team ahead 2k gold. The game was pretty slow, the only actions being around drakes. 100T also got the third one to get to soul point, thanks to another double kill from Ssumday.
The in-game tradition continued at the 26th minute as we got another team fight victory and the Infernal Soul for 100T after a third double kill from Ssumday’s Akali. IMT then got a pick on Closer, but 100T turned the fight around as they had a 5k gold lead. They got four kills back and secured the Baron. Their 10k lead at this point was enough for them to siege the IMT base and gift Ssumday a birthday victory.
- Teams: IMT – 100T
- Time: 30:51
- Kills: 3 – 15
- Turrets: 2 – 9
- Gold: 47.3k – 59.9k
- Dragons: 0 – 4
- Barons: 0 – 1
