Chinese game publisher NetEase announced six sponsors for its NetEase esports X Tournament (NeXT) Summer Season, including Chinese smartphone brand Huawei.
According to the sponsor list of NeXT, Huawei Game Center will be the top sponsor in the tournament. Bicycle brand Forever and PC brand HP will also sponsor the tournament as industrial sponsors. Chinese electric vehicle brand Xiao Peng will act as a strategic partner of NeXT. Hardware brand Razer and WD_Black will provide their products to the tournament.
Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed.
The NeXT Summer Season finals take place Sept. 4-13, feature 19 esports titles, and features a ¥3M RMB ($420K USD) total prize pool. Those 19 esports titles include Minecraft, Overwatch, Warcraft III, Hearthstone, Starcraft II, and 14 games from NetEase.
In China, NetEase is the exclusive game distributor of Minecraft and Blizzard’s products. The tournament will be streamed on DouYu, Huya, Bilibili, Tik Tok, and 15 Chinese other live streaming platforms.
