How Korea's Beloved Champion Became China's Hometown Hero: The Story of Rookie

by devaccess

If there’s one thing that can be said about the bubbly, compassionate and inspirational competitor that is Song “Rookie” Eui-jin, it’s this: he’s a fighter.

At so many points in his career, he could’ve given up and gone home. People told him he should give up. But he didn’t. He took the road less traveled, and it made all the difference.

But that’s what’s made Rookie such an inspiration to so many people: his stubbornness. His ability to commit, to stick things out. To persevere.

And this is his story.

With Clearlove leaving his player carrer behind he deserves his video. One of the best stories from zero to hero to being the most hated player to being a hero again.

I like how Faker's basically a unit of measurement for understanding just how exceptional a pro is xD

Also, The Shy and IG have never explained the truth of his injury! Plz do not spread these unconfirmed informations!

This is a great video! Rookie is a professional player who deserves all the praise.
But this video mentions about The Shy's hand injury was due to cooking. That is wrong!!!! His hand injury almost took him out of the game and greatly affected his life.
Cooking won't hurt your hand so much that you can't move it, right?

Sorry, that‘s a great video absolutely, but The Shy‘s hand was not caused by cooking, and iG have not given an explanation for his injury yet. So this message in this video is not true.

There wasn’t an official statement regarding how theshy was injured… and consider he will be exempt from military service cuz of the injury.. it’s impossible that it was due to cooking… unless he was aiming direct to his own arm while chopping…

As a Chinese myself I can't stress enough of how much Rookie was appreciated by Chinese players. He's seen as a national hero despite being a Korean.

It's crazy how similar Rookie and Doinb are. They are both kind, hardworking and consistent. I guess that's what it takes to make a champion.
