It as been less than 24 hours since the end of the MSI 2019 at Taipei, Vietnam. The tournament was simply amazing. Since it hosted some of the most memorable games in the competitive world of the League of Legends. At the end of the competition, Europe met NA in grand finale, where G2 Esports beat Team Liquid to claim the trophy.
G2 took little time to beat Liquid in the finale. The EU side comprehensive dominated the NA representative, to beat them 3-0 in the best of five series. Yet we believe that, its was a truly historic campaign for the NA side and the whole region should be proud of it.

NA region need to acknowledge the remarkable run of their side since they wrote history books. The MSI 2019 should be remembered for a long time, since Liquid defied the odds and came out all guns blazing. This phenomenal run in the competition should pave the way for the regions success in the future.
An underdog story
The roster of Team Liquid might be the best one in the history of the NA LCS. Yet heading into this competition, Liquid was rated as a underdog. Out of the four major regions, the were rated as the weakest one by the analysts and the community.
The reason behind was that the Chinese region was represented by the reigning world champions, Invictus Gaming. Meanwhile the Koreans, had SK Telecom T1 who hold some of the best players in the history of the game. While the G2 roster had an exceptional performance in the 2019 Spilt were the claimed the first spot weeks before the end of the season. Meanwhile Liquid look well, but were not rated to be a solid contender for the title among these stronger candidates.

Reaching the playoffs of the competition was an incredible achievement for the side. Since, it ensured that, no matter what happens, the team will end in the top 4. Yet, they didn’t settle and exhibited that they can go toe to toe with some of the best team in the world.
An upset for the ages
Liquid knew that they will have to take the toughest road to the final, when Invictus Gaming picked them as their semi final opponents. None of the critics gave them a fighting chance, since they faced the reigning world champions. They also only lost one of their ten games in the group stage so no one could have thought of them losing in the semis.
Meanwhile Liquid had to wait till the last game, to secure its spot in the final four. So it was easily pridicted that the team will be sweeped 3-0. Yet they came out shining with a 3-1 victory over IG. Liquid might have lost to G2 in the final, yet we still believe they truly deserve an applause for their fairytale run to the final.
