Félix “xQc” Lengyel maintains his dominance on Twitch. The rapid departure of Ludwig Ahgren from the Top 10 following the end of his month-long streaming marathon also highlights one aspect that has kept Lengyel at the top for so long: he just streams a lot of hours. In the last 14 days, according to SullyGnome, Lengyel has been live for 151 hours, compared to the 80-ish hours of many of his Top 10 peers.
That said, Lengyel’s consistent dominance is not simply a product of more hours. There are many streamers with similar uptime that do not approach his hours watched. What makes Lengyel stand apart from the crowd is his ability to maintain a larger audience for such a long time each week.
Twitch’s Top Content – Just Chatting
While Just Chatting has returned to the top of Twitch, the fact that Grand Theft Auto V is still nipping at its heels is nothing short of remarkable. The game maintained nearly triple the hours watched of League of Legends, holding second place with more than 61M hours watched.
The modern age of Twitch and esports is not reliant on new releases. Twitch metrics consistently dissuade fears that gaming is too cyclical for long-term investment in a title. While games may ebb and flow, the bulk of the Top 10 is consistently populated by games that released years ago, and any one of them has the potential to rise through the ranks with the proper mix of streamer collaboration, new content, and trend capitalization.
