George Kittle Injury Update: FP on Wednesday for 49ers

by Shane Lambert

George Kittle was one of the players on the San Francisco 49ers’ injury report on Wednesday for NFL Week 2. However, the team seems to just be listing him as a player to monitor. He was a full participant in practice on Wednesday. The report lists a groin injury, which is the same reason he was on the report last week. However, Kittle played in Week 1 as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 30-7, one of the surprising spreads of the week.

NFL Week 2 Injury Report: 49ers vs Rams

Overall, San Francisco had a pretty good injury report for Week 2. Four names appeared on the report in total. However, in addition to Kittle, Ray-Ray McCloud was a full participant in practice.

Trent Williams was on the report as a non-participant in practice but the team said that they were just resting him. That’s the least concerning reason for a player to be on an injury report. Dre Greenlaw appeared on the report as DNP. The team lists a groin injury for the linebacker. This is the only significant injury on the report following Wednesday’s practice.

Rams Have a Good Injury Report Too

The 49ers will face the LA Rams on Sunday in a game that the Rams will host. LA did not have a long injury report either. Akhello Witherspoon appeared on the report as a full participant. Joe Noteboom was limited with an ankle injury. Overall, these two teams did not have anything major on their shared injury report. However, updates are pending on Thursday and Friday.

Betting tips: San Francisco 49ers vs LA Rams

Our recommendation for this game is to go with the Rams on the handicap. They are out at +8.0 with bet365, a spread that underrates their chances. They received some solid play out of Matthew Stafford in Week 1. Hopefully, his dip last season was just a Super Bowl hangover. +8.0 looks big on the Rams as they look to follow up a strong outing from Week 1.
