Gaules Pushes to Second Place with NBA Co-Stream – Weekly Twitch Top 10s, May 31 – June 6 – ARCHIVE

With Riot Games’ major international events winding down, it was a somewhat quieter esports weekend, but Brazilian streamer Gaules still experienced a co-streaming boost from a partnership.

Twitch’s Top Channel – xQc

Félix “xQc” Lengyel is, shockingly, still banned from NoPixel’s private Grand Theft Auto V server, and the resulting lack of drama has seen his viewership come back down to earth somewhat. Twitch’s top streamer is still playing GTA on a public server, and apparently good behavior on that server could result in his ban being lifted once again.

Of greater interest is the push from Gaules into second place. This isn’t an uncommon position for the popular co-streamer, but his viewership is most commonly the result of being the main Portuguese broadcast for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive events. This week, he added a new title to his repertoire thanks to a partnership with the NBA. The video recording of his first NBA co-stream has already been watched over 2M times, and the broadcast helped push his channel over 4M hours watched for the week.

Twitch’s Top Content – Just Chatting

Despite the lack of xQc-related shenanigans, GTA remains firmly entrenched as the new top game on Twitch. Of course, it still lags nearly 20M hours watched behind the true king of the platform, Just Chatting.

World of Warcraft also saw a slight resurgence with the release of Burning Crusade Classic, but the novelty appears to have worn off somewhat since the nostalgia-fueled remake’s inception. When Classic first released, it captivated Twitch and pushed big name WoW streamers to the top of the charts. This time around, the game’s leading streamer Asmongold could only reach sixth place with 3.33M hours watched.
