G2 Esports vs Gen.G Preview
G2 Esports
G2 Esports have long been the poster boys of the LEC. Knowing the team’s knack for forcing their opponents to blunder on the Rift, we’ve seen them amiably weather the storm during their MSI 2023 play-in run. In their previous match, they crushed PSG in a 2-0 bo3 despite their opponent having the objective lead. If their macro continues to prioritize lone enemy ADCs instead of opting for the larger teamfights, they’ll be in the right mindset to cripple their opponent’s advantages.
G2 Esports Roster
- Sergen “Brokenblade” Çelik
- Martin “Yike” Sundelin
- Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther
- Steven “Hans Sama” Liv
- Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle
Player To Watch
Hans Sama performs his job well, his kill count acting as the team’s barometer for how aggressive the rest of G2 Esports is allowed to be.
Gen.G
Gen.G has been a complete juggernaut of a contender since the season started. Often stealing split-winning wins from T1 themselves, they count on Payz’s mid-game power spikes and fully capitalize on Doran’s well-positioned set-ups. Factor in Chovy and Peanut focusing on the enemy’s star player throughout the game, and you’ve got yourself an incredibly tenacious line-up. The rest of the team acts like an iron fortress that surrounds their rookie ADC, so any team who dreams of beating Gen.G will have to either use brute force or find another way in.
Gen.G Roster
- Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon
- Han “Peanut” Wang-ho
- Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon
- Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan
- Yoo “Delight” Hwan-joong
Player To Watch
If 5head plays are up your alley, Gen.G’s strategic genius Choi “Doran” Hyeon-joon find cracks in their enemy’s formation as Gragas.
Gen.G vs G2 Esports Predictions
Despite what’s on everybody’s minds, Gen.G’s proficiency on the Rift doesn’t completely succeed any weapon in G2’s arsenal. There’s still BrokenBlade Olaf and Hans Sama’s Draven to consider (if they don’t get banned outright). Yike will definitely play a pivotal role in controlling the map for a possible G2 win either way. However if macroplay becomes the main factor, Gen.G will win. And if their recent match histories are any indication, G2 Esports team will have a stupidly difficult time recreating their 2020 win against Gen.G. 3-2 in favor of Doran and co..
