Reports coming out of Brazil suggests André “drop” Abreu is not a FURIA player anymore
Amidst swirling rumors within the Brazilian esports scene regarding substantial transfer fees and the possible destination of Gabreil “FalleN” Toledo, FURIA have reportedly made the first transfer move of the offseason in Brazil as Dust2 Brasil reports the ESL Pro League Season 12: North America champions have released André “drop” Abreu.

The report claims that FURIA have notified André “drop” Abreu of his exclusion from the starting lineup. As they evaluate different options, one of them involves Kaue “kauez” Kaschuk, an Academy talent with an expiring VAC ban in October 2023. The decision to bench drop doesn’t come as a shock, as speculations have been circulating about the potential replacements for both drop and Rafael “saffee” Costa.
FURIA Co-Owner Andre Akkari shared a message with fans, shedding light on the team’s plans after a meeting with Yuri “yuurih” Boian, Andrei “arT” Piovezan, and Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato. In the said message, Akkari made no mention of drop and Rafael “saffee” Costa, raising eyebrows and fueling speculation about their future at the club.
Both drop and saffee joined the squad relatively recently, with drop becoming part of the team in August 2021 as a product of the FURIA Academy, taking over the role previously held by Lucas “honda” Honda, another FURIA Academy graduate. On the other hand, saffee, a highly acclaimed AWPer from paiN, made a grand entrance into the squad, attracting significant attention and hype.
As per the report by Dust2 Brasil, FURIA recently conducted a meeting with FalleN, but no concrete developments have been revealed yet. With paiN Gaming also in pursuit of the renowned AWPer, the question arises: What will be FalleN’s decision if he chooses to part ways or remain with Imperial? The veteran AWPer is likely to be involved in one of the biggest transfer sagas before the next season begins.
In the event that FalleN chooses to join FURIA, saffee will make way for him in the active lineup. It’s not clear, however, what will happen to saffee at FURIA if FalleN doesn’t sign for them.
