Clutch Gaming weren’t supposed to make Worlds. They weren’t supposed to almost beat the best team in the league in the playoffs. Hell, they weren’t even supposed to be in the playoffs.
So when Clutch began their long Summer Climb to worlds, no one expected much. But Clutch defied the odds.
They gave us one of the greatest Cinderella stories the LCS has ever seen. And then? Their legend was cut short.
Because Clutch Gaming blew up before they could run it back.

I still think clutch (now dig) is very promising and they have a good mix of personalities and talent.
Well I like TSM :/
and thennnn damonte plays in academy :^)
Most promising roster? Out of all the NA rosters we have seen and had expectations for THIS is the most promising one? Its a Cinderella story dude, they did great…as underdogs. Overachieved massively. Most promising roster? YOU dont even believe that lol.
Who else thought this was about c9 when they read the title?
So why were the blown up this video didnt explain much
um…. most promising roster? stfu lol
This roster was never NA’s most promising roster. While they were disappointing, TL/C9/TSM had more promising rosters that flopped.
Clutch lived up to their name at times when it counted. I'll miss that team
Imagine watching NALCS
How was it cut short? Damonte, Lira and Vulcan are terrible.
so basically c9 in csgo
Most promising roster??
"NA's Most Promising Roster" OMEGALUL
"We can't let this shitty team go to Worlds to represent NA"
Proceeds to finish the two weeks 0-6
Well at least TSM would've won 1 game and finish 1-5
Am I the only one who thinks "FBI" is a dumbass name?
I doubt that they would repeat that success, honestly. They beat TSM because TSM had internal issues and then just kinda rode a wave of momentum. I would have put the at 5th had they stayed together, optimistically; but TL stays #1, and C9, CLG and TSM fight it out for positions 2-4.
I felt in love with this team too but specially for the Cody Sun story, remember that his story at 100T last year, he carried the shit out of that team(along with Ssumday) to Worlds and he was benched two weeks (I think) before the split finished and he even didn't played in Worlds that year, then, this year, he started playing in CGA in summer if I recall correctly, then he got to the CG LCS roster and he got to Worlds again…and this time, he played for real. That and for Tanner "Tanner Time" Damonte, he's such a great guy, I was happy for him when they got to Worlds
17 minute video but only 2 minutes talking about how the team fell apart, if you could even call it that. If anyone came to watch the video based on the title, do yourself a favor and skip to around 14:30. You will probably still end up disappointed though
nice video, the narrator speaks really well but his acting… sight
Wtf was that? No words as to why the team actually fell apart. "They left" – wow … thanks for wasting my time.
IT'S TANNER TIME
I really think Huni getting a massive chunk of the player's salary ruined their potential for this year
i still cant understand how this game is even a thing… mobas in general super trash genre and IF then please dota and now LoL lmao
Do you get more tips because your mustache has come straight from a 1960's journalist bullpen?
That CG vs SKT was the first time I saw a live pro match.
wtf is that title, they could legit only play qiyana rumble
Promising lol.. more likely Clutch coming third and taking TL to 5 games showed how bad NA was in general. I have some hope for 2020 but not much
Can somebody describe "promising" to me? For me they always looked like mid tier.
i feel so bad for Damonte, and the fact he didnt even manage to get onto a main team actually hurts.
NA LUL
No they couldnt.
They omitted the reverse sweep for CLG in the 3rd place game of summer.
So, can someone tell me why the team fell apart? Like why they all split their seperate ways? I can't understand that aspect when it comes to League, it's so unlike a game like Counter-Strike where roster changes doesn't happen nearly as dramatically as it does in LCS. Why wouldn't you want to keep this group together? Why not? Management themselves said that the ceiling was sky-high with this team and its talent.
