Where all of the of the Fortnite Plane locations? These are each of the Fortnite OG Plane Locations and how the X-4 Stormwing has changed this season.
One of the bigger additions coming with the current season 7 part of Fortnite OG is the return of the planes. Originally introduced in Chapter 1 Season 7, the X-4 Stormwing Fortnite planes are some of the most impactful vehicles we’ve ever had in the game. When they first hit, they could annihilate builds and cause some major problems. In the more locked down Fortnite OG gameplay, their rotation aids are going to be huge. The Fortnite OG Plane Locations could massively change your game plan in each round.
While originally kind of overpowered (especially with builds), are they still as bad? Where can you find the Fortnite plane locations to see for yourself? With the meta now favoring more locked down box gameplay rather than cranking to max height, the planes definitely feel different. Plus, the new versions of the planes are incorporating some of their newer changes.
While Fortnite OG has largely put items back to their original form, Planes are an exception. They’ve maintained a few of the key nerfs that Epic has introduced over the years. While weaker than the Chapter 1 original, the Fortnite X-4 Stormwings are definitely high-level picks for rotation this season. If you can master keeping it safe and manage the fuel or health, you can get a lot done with these.
The Fortnite plane locations are pretty packed in the new season, outside of the west of the map. Depending on your choice of Fortnite landing spot, plane locations might be hard to find. We’ll cover where all of the spawns are and how to make the most out of them when you do find one.
Fortnite Plane Locations
Where are the Fortnite Plane locations this season? There are quite a few around the map. You might struggle on the west side of the map. However, elsewhere there are quite a few different spots where you can expect to find them. There are spawns for these close to quite a few of the biggest POIs.

Fortnite OG Plane Locations Spawn Rates
That’s where you can find all of the Fortnite X-4 Stormwing planes this season. However, like with chests and everything else at the moment you won’t find them just by walking to each spot. It can be tricky. Nothing has a 100% spawn rate in Fortnite anymore.
Sometime ago Epic changed the way chests work, so rather than each chest spot having one in each game, each chest spot has around a 75% chance to have a chest. Vehicle spawns are working the same. We have the same system for the Fortnite Hoverboard OG spots this season, and for the X-4 Stormwing Fortnite locations.
This means you won’t find planes in all of these spots. Probably something closer to two-thirds or half of them will actually have one active. You’ll have to hit up a few of the Fortnite plane locations if you want to guarantee one in each and every game. That’s just how spawn rates are handled in modern Fortnite, unfortunately.
Fortnite X-4 Stormwing Changes
The new season has introduced the Fortnite X-4 Stormwings, they might look just like the OG version, but are they functionally the same? There are some minor differences to the Fortnite OG Plane locations, but really just from their first few weeks in the game. They largely match how Planes felt by the end of the original Season 7.
Planes have fuel. This wasn’t always the case, but in this version that mechanic is back. Unlike in Chapter 2 onwards, they can’t be fuelled back up either Once they’re done, they’re done. This means you can’t fly around all game. It’s a mechanic which didn’t exist in Chapter 1, but ultimately one that’s important for keeping them balanced.
They’ve also got new radios so you can listen to some music as you go. This doesn’t massively impact gameplay though. Each plane holds five players, so you can even make use of them in Team Rumble. They’re quite loud in the visual audio indicators too, most players use these Fortnite settings so it’s something to be aware of.
The other major changes are alterations that happened throughout Season 7 originally. The X-4 Stormwings got their health reduced, their damage taken increased and were generally made more flimsy. These changes were to fix the planes which were a bit over the top to begin with. While Epic has made a few changes from the very first drop of the Stormwing, they’re still pretty close to their Season 7 form. These changes help to keep them a bit more competitive and less overpowered. There are also fewer Fortnite plane locations in the snow biome than originally.
The Fortnite OG plane locations are going to make a major difference to your rotation in each game. It’s definitely going to be worth swinging by the X-4 Stormwings during the weeks that these planes are active. While they’re a bit more fragile and less overpowered, nothing beats them for getting around the map in relative safety
