Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 is here! This is everything that’s new and changed for the latest season, Fortnite Last Resort.
The latest Chapter of Fortnite is here. Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 has finally launched, hitting the game after a short period of down time. The game has gotten a pretty big update here. There are new weapons, new mechanics, a new Battle Pass. Even compared to past seasons, this one feels like a big update. Fortnite Last Resort came after a lull for Battle Royale, and it seems Epic has delivered finally.
The game is getting new POIs, tons of new weapons and Mythics, there’s even a whole new mechanic at work with heists going on in the game. The game has gotten a lot more new content than we saw in Chapter 4 Season 3, and a lot of it are highlights from previous seasons. If you want to keep playing your best in Fortnite C4 S4, you’ll need to know everything that’s changed. This is what’s new and different in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.

Map Changes
The big part of first jumping in for every new season is what’s happened to the map. This time we’ve broken out of the “one new biome” system we’ve had for most of Chapter 4 to a point. There’s quite a few new and changed locations, along the new POIs are still quite self-contained.
The biggest changes are the new areas that are home to the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 heists. These are the new POIs, like the Sanguine Suites, Relentless Retreat, and Eclipsed Estate. Each of these are full compounds. They’re heavily guarded by guards, along cameras, lasers grids and more. Each of these spots is home to one of the new Fortnite Mythics though, so there’s a high reward for getting in and heisting some of that high tier loot.
Along with the new POIs, a few other locations have been changed to become part of the Heist. A tower in Mega City, Rumble Ruins, and the Slap Juice Factory are all home to these heists and loot too.
New Items in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4
To facilitate these high stakes break ins for Fortnite C4 S4, there’s some new items which are going to be key for getting into these areas along with new guns. These are some of the fun new items and fresh we’re seeing this season.
Infiltrator Pump Shotgun
This season’s new shotgun is the infiltrator shotgun, a new hard-hitting close-range weapon. There are considerably fewer shotguns in the loot pool this season. The two more recent Pumps, the Havoc and Sharp Tooth, are both gone. This brand-new pump is the replacement. It’s likely going to get quite a bit of play.
Scoped Burst SMG
The Scoped Burst SMG is a bit of a weird one. It’s a new burst shot SMG, but with a scope. It’s a bit strange to get a scope on a close-range weapon but this is definitely an interesting place to take SMGs this season. Fortnite Last Resort is twisting things around quite a bit with changing up these mechanics.
Twin Mag Assault Rifl
The Twin Mag Assault Rifle takes a mechanic we’ve seen in the past and applies it to a new type of weapon! This uses the Twin Mag mechanic that we saw with SMGs in the past. You can fire most of a magazine with the AR, then flip to a second part of the mag for another faster burst. The reload after is a little longer but you get a lot more shots out of this than a standard AR!
Rocket Ram
The Rocket Ram is a new utility item tailored made for heisting in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4! This is a new item that can help you break into the inflatable locations, it’s also going to be pretty helpful for those getaways too.
Business Turret
One really interesting addition to the Fortnite C4 S4 loot pool is the Business Turret. This is an item which looks like an ordinary briefcase. However, it can be transformed instead into a turret! This is a turret item which is going to fire rounds at enemies nearby without you having to man it! It’s completely automated. It can basically auto aim, just let it run in a specific area. This is an interesting item that’s probably going to get a lot of use in scenarios outside of heists.
Heist Bag
Heists Bags are a new type of lootable item for Fortnite Last Resort! It’s a new feature which contains some exclusive loot. Each pad has a Crash Pad Jr, or Remote Explosive, Rocket Ram, and healing items. Getting crash pads back could be fun. Some players have had a lot of fun with them in the past.
Returning Mythics for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3
The new season is built around pulling off Heists in new locations. What’s waiting for you if you can successfully grab the lot though? Epic has made sure there’s a decent prize inside each of these new POIs. These are all of the new and returning Mythics you’ll find.
- Foundation’s MK-Seven Assault Rifle
- Midas’ Drum Gun
- Zyg and Choppy’s Ray Gun
- TNTina’s KA-Boom Bow
- Ocean’s Bottomless Chug Jug
- Kit’s Charge Shotgun
- Kit’s Shockwave Launcher
- Gunnar’s Stinger SMG
Along with getting a new Mythic, you’re going to get Slap Juice too. That’s the high-level healing item from the last few seasons.
Nitro Fang – New Vehicle for Fortnite Last Resort
The last of the big new items is the Nitro Fang car. This is a new car specially built for getting out of Heists quickly!
Reality Augments Fortnite C4 S4
New Fortnite Reality Augments are getting added for this season! There are some really interesting new features here. These are all of the Augments that have been added for this season.
- On the Go Bag – All containers will have a random Heist Bag item.
- Sniper Striker – Snipers give the Siphon Effect on Enemies
- Ammo Drop – Get ammo, enemies also get more ammo than normal.
- First Shotgun – Shotguns do more damage on the first shot.
- Pistol Salvo – Pistols do more damage but have a reduced fire rate.
- Fast Fisher – Swimming through fishing holes instantly loots, you’ll also swim faster.
Along with these new Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 Augments, there’s quite a few which have stuck around. We’ve still got a full pool of Augments for the season! The Mythic Augments that have been popping up in Fortnite leaks don’t seem to have hit the game yet though.
Forecast Towers
Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 has a new feature which lets you get extra intel on how the entire game is ging to run. When you take down all the guards at one of the new Forecast Towers, they’ll drop a keycard. You can use this to scan with the tower and get intel on future storm circles for your game. This is something to keep in mind for Fortnite Last Resort, some players could have way more info.
Survivor Medals
A new quest system has launched with Fortnite Chapter 4 Season. These are Survivor Quests. Each of these is a special more difficult quest. As you progress through them, you’ll earn high tier survivor medals. These are ranked by their rarity and they’re another way of showing off how well you’re playing in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4.
New Fortnite Last Resort Boss – Kado Thorne
A big new feature you’ll find on the map is a new boss or kind of a villain for the current season. A Vampire Kado Thorne is the focus of the new season. He’s been building some impressive real estate all over the map, where you’ll find the heistable locations. At the moment he isn’t live on the map himself yet. However, with his fingers in so many themes and areas of Fortnite C4 S4, we’ll definitely see him up at some point. Keep an eye on Fortnite news to see when he gets enabled as a full character.
New Battle Pass and Skins
No new season would be complete without new Fortnite skins and a Battle Pass. This season’s is definitely an interesting one. Epic showed off quite a few of these designs earlier in the weeks leading up to the launch,. We now know we’re getting a few new characters along with a new crossover, Khaby Lame in Fortnite.
This season’s bonus skin was a complete surprise though. It’s Ashoka Tano. That’s a character from Star Wars that’s getting a TV show or streaming thing soon.
