Fnatic, the return of the king in LEC 2019? – esportsjunkie

Fnatic is undoubtedly one of the best-known League of Legends teams in Europe. Present since season 1 and with the victory at the first World Championships, it has forged a solid reputation. After their performances in season 8 and its final against Invictus Gaming, Fnatic seemed unstoppable. But against all odds, the side had a chaotic start to the season but it is fair to say that the team has reborn from the ashes.

Fnatic and false starts

Fnatic was a favorite in the title race from the start of the season. All eyes were directed towards World Championship finalists to dominate the LEC. However, against all expectations, Fnatic chained four defeats before finding its first win against Rogue. Rogue was the worst performing team in the league. After this victory, the side alternated between victory and defeat before finally finding an Olympic form.

The situation was not so unusual as you might think! During season 8, Fnatic already had a difficult start with three losses in its first five games. A half-hearted start that is reminiscent of the start of this season. The team had to deal with the same problem in 2017 where it suffered six defeats in its first 10 games. Fnatic is not a team accustomed to the start the season on a high note. It is a team that has often been built and improved over time to develop its full potential.

Fnatic, the LEC diesel

In 2017 after its terrible start, Fnatic finished third in the Spring Split. The side continued to progress all year round to reach the quarter-finals of the World Championships. In 2018 Fnatic had done even better by crushing G2 3-0 in the Spring Split. From then on, the side reached the semifinals of the MSI, where RNG eliminated them 3 to 0.

Then onwards, they reached the final of World Championships. An incredible year in which the veteran EU side proved that the world cannot doubt its potential. The LEC, and League of Legends in general, is always full of surprises. Fnatic knows how to meet expectations in key moments and proves it again this year with its series of six victories. They are back on track to win the Spring Split Playoffs.

Fnatic was victorious against Splyce and G2. Looking at the performance of the team in both of the games it is fair to say that: They have successfully adapted to the meta to be crowned Champions of Europe once again.

Rekkles and his team will have to fight until the end. One thing is certain; the reigning kings of Europe will fight tooth and nail to be crowned champions once again.
