Fnatic have been showing a lot of problems in the 2022 LEC Summer regular season so far, and if things keep going south for them, they might end up missing the playoffs. Yes, that’s how close the competition is, there is a scenario where Fnatic won’t make it into playoffs, but they are still in control of their own fate.
Currently in a 4-game losing streak, Fnatic needs to pick up all the wins they can because there are only 7 games left to be played. Fortunately for them, the only top teams they still have to face are Mad Lions and the Rogue, so that means they still have a bit of room to breathe. But as we all know, crazy things happen in the LEC, so that’s why they can rest on their laurels. Without further ado, let’s talk about Fnatic’s week 6 matches.
Fnatic vs Mad Lions – Saturday, July 29
Mad Lions is looking like one of the most solid teams in the league, currently tied for 1st with Rogue on a 8-3 score. They are having one of their best splits in a while, and this is mostly due to Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer. The 23-year-old Belgian mid laner is the perfect for his team, and his teammates are very aware of this. Mad Lions is the strongest team when it comes to the early game, and this is because both Nisqy and Elyoya are completely in tune, which is quite impressive considering that this is their first split playing together.
Fnatic are definitely the underdogs coming into this match. There are two main reasons for this: Humanoid is not fully adapting to the meta, as he still hasn’t touched Taliyah, which is one of the strongest champions in the mid lane right now. The other one being Razork, who showed a lot of improvement throughout the spring split but now could be considered the weakest link for Fnatic. He struggles to find his footing and overall is weaker compared to his MSF days.
Fnatic vs BDS – Sunday, July 30
Fortunately for Fnatic, after their match against Mad Lions, they should have an easier time playing against Team BDS, who are currently sitting in the bottom of the standings. BDS has won only one game and is struggling even more than other teams in the early game. They are individually lacking compared to other LEC players, which puts them at a disadvantage from the get-go.
But the early game is not the only area where BDS are lacking. They also have the problem of always messing up fights and skirmishes, which really doesn’t help them. With that being said, the last time the two teams faced each other, the match lasted more than 54 minutes, which puts Fnatic in a very uncomfortable position. While both teams might go for a late-game scaling draft, Fnatic should definitely take advantage of the fact that they have way better players in each lane and look to roll over BDS in a dominating fashion.
