As concerns about the spread of novel coronavirus (CoVID-19) grows when it comes to passing it on during large public gatherings, FLASHPOINT today announced that all of Season 1 will be played and broadcast from its studios in Los Angeles.
The Season 1 playoff event, which was to take place in April in Stockholm, has been canceled, with future events to take place at the league’s Los Angeles studio.
“The safety and health of the players, employees, and fans are our top priority as we work together to contain the CoVID-19 threat globally, read an official statement from the CS:GO league.
“In partnership with the CSPPA [Counter-Strike Professional Players Association], FLASHPOINT has decided to change our plans for FLASHPOINT 1, and will host the event entirely in our Los Angeles studio. The studio is a controlled environment that allows us to implement strong policies and best practices to protect the players and our employees, while also avoiding incremental travel and interaction with fans.”
