Renegades have secured a 2-1 victory over FaZe in the second elimination series of the day at the Berlin Major.

The battle of survival began for the two teams began at Mirage. The Australian team took a win in the early pistol round and managed to get a 3-0 lead only to be shut down by Olof “olofmiester” Kajbjer picking up a quad kill with his AWP to secure FaZe their first round. Renegades performed well regardless and managed to keep their composure to put up a score of 9-6. FaZe managed to get the pistol round on the T-side thanks to an insane glock quad kill coming out from olofmeister. FaZe and Renegades traded rounds back to back until a 1v2 clutch from Håvard “rain” Nygaard allowed FaZe to secure map point on Mirage. However, the success of FaZe was short-lived as Renegades took 3 rounds back to back and forced the map into overtime. In overtime, Renegades outclassed FaZe and secured a 22-19 win with the first map in their name.

Map two for the day was Nuke. FaZe started off with a very strong T-side thanks to the contributions of Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, rain and olofmeister and allowed them to secure a 13-2 lead in the first half. The second half went as expected, Renegades were overwhelmed by FaZe and only managed a single round win. The second map concluded with a 16-3 win for FaZe and the series being drawn out 1-1.

The third map was Vertigo. Even on Vertigo FaZe managed to build up momentum and took a 7-0 lead early on. The momentum that FaZe built up was cut short thanks to a triple kill coming out from Sean “Gratisfaction” Kaiwai. The first half ended with FaZe taking a 10-5 lead. The second half went all wrong for FaZe as Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad and Aaron “AZR” Ward opened up with double kills in the pistol round with their USP-S. FaZe tried their best to prevent Renegades from securing a comeback but their combined effort was cut short by an outstanding triple kill from jkaem in the 17th round. With the score tied 14-14, FaZe lost a crucial round and was left with poor economy which resulted in them losing to Renegades 14-16 on the third map.

The series thus concluded with a 2-1 victory for Renegades over FaZe in the BO3 elimination series at the Berlin Major.
