FaZe Clan has partnered with Verizon, making the U.S. telecommunications company the exclusive and official 5G and 4G LTE network sponsor for the esports and gaming lifestyle organization. The agreement will span across all competing teams in the organization along with content creators. Additionally, the companies will partner to create live events and original content that will highlight the impact of Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network has on “gaming content and the transformational experience it enables for fans, players, and creators.”
This marks yet another step in Verizon’s entry into the esports space, as earlier this year the company announced a multi-year partnership with Riot Games’ League of Legends Championship Series as the league’s Official 5G Wireless and Network Service Partner.
The two have worked together in the past, collaborating on a weekly music and gaming streaming series called Pay It Forward LIVE. The series was created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in order to help small businesses. The series earned 90M views in the 10 weeks of the series it ran with nearly 40M viewers tuning in to the weekly gaming events featuring popular gamers from FaZe Clan.
FaZe Clan competes in Fortnite, FIFA, PUBG, PUBG MOBILE, Rainbow Six: Siege, Call of Duty League (Atlanta FaZe) and Counter-Strike:Global Offensive and has partnered with companies in the past such as Champion, NFL, Manchester City FC, Lyrical Lemonade, Kappa, CLOT, LA Kings, and others.
