FaZe Clan beat Team Liquid to become the champion of BLAST Pro Series Miami 2019 tournament. The European team defeated the Americans by 2-0 and won the prize of $ 125,000. The grand finale took place last night in Miami, United States. The Brazilian representative, MIBR, finished the championship in third place. This is a quite decent performance from the side after their last-place finish in the BLAST Pro Series São Paulo. Let’s have a look at the action of the grand finale.
The Finale
Team Liquid qualified for the final in first place after a five-game winning streak in the group phase. “At home,” the Americans seemed poised to win the tournament. FaZe Clan came without pressure for the match and had to face the hostile attitude of the American fans.
Europeans started the final with the first map pick, Mirage and started on the terrorist side. After great plays from Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev, FaZe got a strong start to the final with an eight-round streak. The streak ended on the 9th round when Nicholas “nitr0” Canella got three AWP kills and got Liquid one the score sheet. After that, the teams began to exchange the rounds until the end of the first half. Nikola “NiKo” Kovač captained a 16-6 win and silenced the Miami fans.

In the second game of the series, Team Liquid picked the Dust 2 map and started out as a terrorist. FaZe Clan kept the control of the final and, with a great half from Håvard “rain” Nygaard, FaZe went into the break with a dominating scoreline of 12-3. The Americans did not give up and mounted a strong comeback. They were so close to level the series but FaZe as having none of it. The final finished 16-12 for FaZe, who was crowned champion closing the series in 2-0.

MIBR Endeavors
The Brazilians led by Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo arrived in Miami with a series of poor results. The Brazilian were eliminated in the first phase of the StarSeries StarSeries i-League Season 7 and did not win a single game in the BLAST Pro Series SP. The side was predicted to perform poorly in Miami. On the first day of the competition, MIBR tasted defeat against Natus Vincere (Na’Vi) and managed a draw against FaZe Clan. This was a decent finish to the first day of the competition.
On the second day of the competition, MiBR started with a 16-2 win over the Astralis Danes. Then MIBR won against Cloud9, 16-6 and could have qualified for the final if they didn’t lose to Team Liquid 16-10. The results guaranteed the team the third place in the final standings. Nonetheless, this was a great performance from the team after just one win from the 10 games. We hope to see the side improve on its results in the upcoming competitions.
