Esports betting approved on Call of Duty League by Nevada regulators

by eSportsJunkie Staff

A notice of approval has been issued by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, allowing sports books to offer the Call of Duty throughout 2020.

Your online esports betting sites have made loopholes in the system in order to offer esports bets, however, it appears that Nevada is strongly permitting the use of esports bets.

This exemption allows permitted national bookmakers to post and accept bets on the Call of Duty League matches by the end of the year. Licensees will propose the following wager forms on the basis of the Control Board’s notice: head to head, match winner and winner overall.

The Call of Duty League on 12 March announced its intentions to switch to a full online coronavirus outbreak system. Nonetheless, at the Chicago Huntsmen Home series this month, Nevada punters will experience their first Call of Duty wagering.

Licensees who wish to have cash lines for the Call of Duty League must first announce their intention to the Division through the notice of terms and conditions. Until taking wagers, sportsbooks must display the official rules of the event organiser or approve the website of the body. The determination of the odds is set at the bookmaker’s discretion with publicly available guidelines controlling incoming payments.

In-play betting opportunities for the Call of Duty League 2020 season are prohibited under the terms laid down by the Control Board. All findings must be based on an appropriate source that follows the regulatory criteria and audit procedures set out in Nevada. A separate application and approval from the Control Board are needed for more markets deviating from the three approved types of bets.

Call of Duty is now put next door to Counter-Strike in the betting menu: alongside League of Legends; Dota 2, iRacing; all accepted over several weeks by Nevada regulators.
