The ESL Pro Tour will be a CS: GO league series covering both DreamHack and ESL activities throughout the world. The circuit will be launched in 2020 and will have a combined $5 M award range at over 20 separate competitions.
Three classifications of competitions will comprise of the competition series: Open, Challenger and Masters. Two “Masters Championships” events each year will culminate in the sequence.
ESL PRO TOUR TOURNAMENT TYPES The CS:GO calendar speciality products are included in the Master’s classes. These events are also counting for the Intel Grand Slam. DreamHack Masters, ESL One, Intel Extreme Masters and the ESL Pro League are the tournaments.
ESL National Championships (including the ESL Premiership and ESL Meisterschaft), DreamHack Open and the Mountain Dew League will be included in the “Challengers” championships. As IEM Katowice and ESL One Cologne, ESL verified the two bigger “Masters Championships.”
By participating in events throughout the ESL Pro Tour, teams will receive credits in the Masters Championship races that will prepare them for a contest.
Ralf Reichert, CEO of ESL, indicated in an official press release that “This partnership between ESL and DreamHack will offer young people a better and more comprehensive route to becoming someone and a framework that is more welcoming and digestible for fresh lovers of sports.”
Marcus Lindmark, DreamHack’s co-CEO, also indicated that “This collaboration will offer a greater meaning and purpose to all of our characteristics.
ESL has also announced that at its ESL One New York case on September 28, 2019, they will disclose further information of the ESL Pro Tour.
