The ESL Premiership Autumn 2022 is a wrap, we take you through the highlights.
Even though most people keep an eye on the Tier 1 competitions in CSGO, there are several Tier 2 events that are usually fun to watch. ESL Premiership is one of them because it often includes tons of interesting names. Needless to say, this was the case in the last couple of months because the ESL Premiership Autumn 2022 ended just a day ago.The event
ESL Premiership Autumn was an event that consisted of 12 teams. It was an online event that mainly included teams from the UK. They had to play in a single round-robin format where all of them had to face each other at least once. What’s more, all matches were in a bo1 format.
The top 3 teams from each group would go to the Playoffs, where the first one would receive a slot for the semifinals. The teams that finished second and third received a slot for the quarterfinals. As for the playoffs themselves, they were in a single-elimination bracket where everything is bo3 until the Bo5 Grand Final.
Since this is a tier 2 CSGO event, ESL Premiership Autumn 2022 had a prize pool of around 15,000 GBP. Although the reward is not that impressive, it attracted several big names. Most people expected Viperio to win, but in the end, Endpoint was the name that stood out.
Teams and results
As mentioned, this CSGO tournament included 12 teams:
- Into The Breach
- Viperio
- Artic Raptors
- Big Time Rush
- If I Speak
- BLVKHVND
- eMasters
- Team 7AM
- Legates Esports
- Endpoint
- 1PIN
- Chetz Esports
Unsurprisingly, some of the teams where were the big favorites and lived up to the expectations. After the end of the Group Stage, Into The Breach and 1PIN won the groups, whereas Chetz Esports, Endpoint, Arctic Raptors and Viperio finished second and third in each group, respectively.
Despite the fact that some teams looked good on paper, Viperio and Endpoint were the two names that people paid close attention to. They had little to no problems in the quarterfinals and the semifinals, which meant they had to go against each other in the Grand Final. This is where it got interesting because we 5 maps in total.
The Final
Endpoint had a stand-in in the face of Thomas “Thomas” Utting, but even this did not allow their opponents to win. The final of the ESL Premiership Autumn 2022 lasted several hours, but in the end, Endpoint won the event. This victory proved that the team is the best in the UK, so we expect to see them among the top 20 teams in the world very soon.
Following this event and the team’s success, the players have secured themselves a slot for the ESL Pro League Season 17 Conference. The latter will take place in February 2023 and will include 16 teams. Of course, winning it won’t be that easy because Endpoint has to go up against the likes of paiN Gaming, Outsiders, and Imperial Esports.
