ESL Extends Deal with Make.TV; Gfinity Expands Partnership with Blackbird

ESL Database-Link-e1521645463907 has renewed its deal with content distribution company Make.TV and expanded it to include the organization’s Dota 2 Database-Link-e1521645463907 event, ESL One Mumbai, later this month.

Make.TV’s cloud-based technology solutions allow ESL to globally distribute content across numerous platforms. The two organizations have been working together since 2015. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Our work with ESL enables us to provide an outlet to these gamers so they can reach the 400 million global esports fans who will be watching either on-site during the event, or online on Twitch or YouTube,” said Make.TV CEO & founder Andreas Jacobi. “This is the future of esports broadcasting and we’re proud to be a part of it.”

Make.TV has worked with a plethora of media outlets including DreamHack, Al Jazeera, MLBAM, Viacom, Fox Sports Brasil, and NBC Universal.

Gfinity Extends With Blackbird

And in related news, esports content creator Gfinity Database-Link-e1521645463907 has extended its deal with Forbidden Technologies’ cloud video platform Blackbird for 12 more months.

The technology solution helps Gfinity log and distribute video content from events for a range of titles including FIFA Database-Link-e1521645463907, Street Fighter Database-Link-e1521645463907, and Rocket League Database-Link-e1521645463907. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Gfinity was the first esports customer for Forbidden Technologies’ Blackbird.

They want high-quality real-time content that tell stories about the games they love and the teams and players they follow,” said Gfinity global COO Graham Wallace. “This ‘reason to care’ content is what we create and through our partnership with Blackbird ensure it is seamlessly delivered in the best format for their different devices.”

Other companies that use Blackbird include MSG Networks, IMG, BBC, Atlas Digital, and Deltatre.
