ESL has extended its agreement with DHL to cover ESL One competitions for 2020. Tournament organisation
For the year, DHL will continue to be a sponsor of ESL One tournaments and a logistics partner.
The grassroots initiative ESL Academy, founded last year in conjunction with DHL, will start in 2020 and will provide an amateurs Dota 2 programme. As part of the extension, DHL will continue supporting the network.
The CEO of ESL, Ralf Reichert, commented on the partnership: “We host competitions across the globe and deliver first-class entertainment to millions of esports fans, both at the tournaments on-site and via our live broadcasts.
The expansion was also discussed by Arjan Sissing, Head of Corporate Brand Marketing, Deutsche Post DHL Group: “With the alliance, a young target group that is hard to reach via the traditional marketing channels is very effectively being tackled. E-commerce is a vital part of our business for us as digital natives, of course, sports fans have a strong affinity to e-commerce. However, not just as consumers but as potential employees, they are appealing for us.
