Two days of intense action from IEM Katowice.
The Quarter and Semifinals of IEM Katowice has ended. After a long time, we have two different finalists in a major CS:GO tournament. Let’s have a brief look at what happened in these two exciting days of the competition.
Quarterfinals
FaZe Clan Vs Gambit Esports
The first match between these two teams went in favor of FaZe Clan with a score of 16-5 on Dust II. Gambit played a lot better in the second match after suffering a cruel loss in the first one. However, it was not enough and FaZe sealed the deal with a second win on Inferno. The ending scoreline was 16-11.
Virtus.pro Vs G2 Esports
The first match was a hard earned victory for G2 Esports. Playing their first game on Mirage, both teams were equally matched. The game went in overtime and it was G2 who barely got a win after a score of 22-25. VP struggled on Ancient in the second match. The scoreline in the end was 5-16 in G2’s favor.
Semifinals
Heroic Vs FaZe Clan
The performance of Heroic in the semis was disappointing to say the least. After an amazing run in the IEM Katowice tournament, Heroic couldn’t keep the same energy in the matches against FaZe Clan. However, we give full marks to FaZe for being on top of their game. The first match on Inferno was close, with Heroic losing 11-16. However, the second match saw FaZe dominating the game with a 5-16 victory.

Natus Vincere Vs G2 Esports
G2 Esports were finally able to pull through against NAVI. However, huge respect for the latter for carrying on in the tournament during their nation’s crisis. The first match on Inferno was a 12-16 win for G2. The second match was closer with a 13-16 score. It was highly possible for NAVI to win the matchup if they could pull through the second match.
