Ender is Leaving the LEC again to focus on VALORANT, specifically the North American VCT League.
The LEC is starting this Saturday with all the teams having their rosters locked in! After the players, the Talent of the English broadcast have been revealed, but there’s a few missing faces. We already knew that Marc “Caedrel” Lamont would be stepping down from his post as a colour caster and analyst to focus on streaming, but two faces are missing from the Twitter post shared by the official LEC account: Henry “Quickshot” Trevor and Christy “Ender” Frierson.

While Quickshot is probably sitting out the Winter Split (or focusing on the new talent, as 4 new people have joined the LEC team), Ender announced that he will be leaving the LEC for the second time.
Ender is Leaving the LEC
The 25-year-old colour caster announced on Twitter/X, as well as YouTube that he would be leaving the broadcast team of the EMEA Championship yet again. The reason is that he will focus on casting VALORANT, which he casted for the past 2 years, but will return to North America to work in the NA VCT.
Ender has started out as a player in the NA High School Starleague, then started casting for smaller competitions. After Clayton “CaptainFlowers” Raines discovered him, he joined the LCS – but not as a caster, but a referee to the competition. He became part of the EU LCS team in 2018 as a colour commentator, and stayed with them until 2021. The first time he left, he joined the NA VALORANT broadcasts.

As he explained in his 2nd goodbye video, during the 2022 LoL Worlds him returning to the LEC while staying with the VALORANT team (just the EMEA) one became possible, and he took the opportunity, juggling two full-time casting jobs. While he didn’t get overwhelmed, Riot Games made him choose due to the restructuring of the VALORANT broadcasts, and Ender chose the tactical FPS instead of the MOBA. This is due to the fact that he started coaching in VALORANT and wants to explore his options, as well as the EMEA VCT and the LEC being “limiting” – as the caster has put it.
However, Ender never denied the possibility of returning, as he did before, and he doesn’t leave the LEC in bad blood, just so his schedule and other projects can go smoother. He has been an integral part of the EMEA VCT, becoming a fan favourite after the NA championship, and fans have welcomed his current return with open arms.
The VALORANT Champions Tour North America will start in February the earliest, as the VALORANT Challengers 2024 NA Split 1 Open Qualifiers will begin on January 31st – so you will have to wait a bit longer to see Ender on your screens. However, the 2024 LEC Winter Split is beginning in a few days with the top talent of the region.
