Coldzera joins FaZe Clan in new agreement

by Gabriel Hall

The organization announced today that the FaZe Clan acquired Marcelo ‘ coldzera’ David at a fee from MIBR.

From July, when he decided to leave the team, Coldzera has been sitting on MIBR’s bench. Although its purchase was never public, it is expected to be one of the highest in Counter-Strike: global offenses, since coldzera was nominated by HLTV in 2016 and 2017 as the world’s best CS: GO player.

He assisted his previous team in winning several 1st Tier LAN championships, including 2 CS: GO Majors, during Luminosity and ESL One Cologne, which was the first major tournament they won under the banner of SK Gaming in July 2016.

Since 2018, however, Coldzera has fought individually. MIBR also experienced a downturn and stopped winning major tournaments.

After leaving MIBR to stay in the game, Coldzera lived in Europe. Coldzera even visited a local Serbian LAN with the FaZe star and head coach Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and the Janko “YNk” Paunović.

For the first time since the acquisition in August 2017 of Ladislav’ GuardiaN ‘ Kovács, FaZe has paid for a transfer. Since then, Filip “NEO” Kubski, Dauren “AdreN” Kystaubayev, and Richard “Xizt” Landström have employed several players who have been lent to them or freelancers.

FaZe is making its debut in the ESL One New York, beginning tomorrow, Sept. 26 at coldzera and newcomer Helvijs “broky” Saukants who are on the trial. In Astralis, Team Liquid and NRG they will face harsh opposition.
