The most popular game on the App Store and on Google Play in Q4 2019 was the Mobile Call of Duty, and the second most downloaded title in 2019.

Call of Duty: smartphone received over 180 million copies, released at the beginning of the quarter on October 1, according to Data Digest 2019 from Sensor Tower. In its quarter of launch, its worldwide sales marked the second-best quarter in smartphone gaming, which was just lost to Pokemon Go’s arrival in the third quarter of 2016.

It was also a big revenue in the US, particularly for the first 90 days, to the tune of almost $50 million. After 2017, only Fortnite has had a higher first 90 days in the United States, grossing over $60 million after it launched off mobile, not Google Play (it hit $100 million worldwide) with only releases from the App Store.

Sand Balls was the second most downloaded app of the fourth quarter in 2019, with less than 100 million downloads both in Google Play and the App Store. There was no.2 on Google Play, too.

The second most released app of the App Store was the Mario Kart Tour, downloaded more than 80 million in Q4. It was No.9 in both stores overall.

On the App Store, Fortnite was No.188 and rose by 8 per cent four times. This was the first quarter of Fortnite’s positive growth in download since smartphone launch in 2018.

The biggest download area for Q4 on Google Play and App Store was the apps, rising to 2.33 billion downloads on the App Store 11.3 percent year-over-year and growing to 8.59 billion downloads by 18.8 percent year-over-year on Google Play.

The most downloaded title was PUBG Mobile for the whole year, which accumulated 285 million sales in both shops. In second place and also over 250 million copies, Garena Free Fireplaced the 3rd on Subway Surfers with more than 200 million.

For over 200 million sales, Fun Race 3D was the most downloaded new game in 2019. With its relatively late date, Call of Duty Mobile was second.
