The BLAST Premier: Fall Final begins November 23, we take a look at who we can expect to see on stage in Copenhagen in our event preview.
After watching several top-tier teams at the Elisa Masters Espoo, it’s time for another top-tier CSGO tournament. This time, we’ll have the chance to watch the BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2022, an event bringing together 8 of the best teams in the game.
The Event Format
BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2022 is an offline event taking take place at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark. As mentioned, it will have 8 teams, divided into 2 groups with 4 teams each. Interestingly, the matches in these groups are all going to be played in a Best of 3 (Bo3) format.
Once the groups are over, the top three from each will head to the playoffs, with the last-placed team eliminated from the competition. That said, the winners of the Group will advance to the semifinals, whereas the runners-up will go to the quarterfinals as the High Seeds. The team that finished third will receive a slot for the quarterfinals as the Low Seeds.
In terms of the playoffs, teams will be facing off in a single-elimination bracket where again, all matches are Bo3. The Event’s prize pool is $425,000 USD, and the team that wins will get $200,000 USD. What’s even more impressive is that the winner will qualify for the World Final, the $1M USD event taking place in Abu Dhabi later this year.
Fall Final Teams
Group A
- OG
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- Heroic
- FaZe Clan
The Fall Final is going to be a very important tournament for many teams, so we’re not surprised some of the biggest names in the game will be a part of it. Starting with OG, the EU squad will try to live up to the expectations after failing to do that in Rio. Fans expected the team to shine, but this was different.
Speaking of Rio and not living up to the expectations, the same can be said about Ninjas in Pyjamas. Rifler Hampus “hampus” Poser and the rest weren’t able to dominate — which is why they will have to step up their game and show what they’re capable of in this event.
Group A also consists of Heroic and FaZe Clan. The latter was one of the big favorites, but following the team’s failure to impress on the Legends Stage, it has to make up to its fans.
The last team in Group A is Heroic, and the Danish squad has a lot of momentum after reaching the final at IEM Rio. Needless to say, the players will be the favorites.
Group B
- NAVI
- Team Liquid
- G2
- Fluxo
In terms of Group B, we also have a couple of big names. Starting with Natus`Vincere. NAVI are always one of the teams to look out for because their roster consists of the best individual players in the game, including the acclaimed Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev.
Team Liquid is also a formidable opponent and has what it takes to bring down even the likes of NAVI. As for the rest of Group B, both G2 and the Brazilian squad Fluxo will have to step up their game if they want to have a chance at succeeding. Fluxo are definitely the underdogs at the Fall Final. But the team made it this far, and have the potential to prove their naysayers wrong.
