There is a great deal of change in Ninjas in Pyjamas by 2020.
A new chief operating officer, Jonas Gundersen, was recruited by the Swedish esports organisation. The former Counter-Strike 1.6pro who has played under the tag “calc,” will be NiP’s choice for esports and profit activities. Gundersen was Chief Commercial Officer for North before joining the famous CSGO org.
“I believe Ninjas is one of the iconic game brands of Pyjamas, internationally,” Gundersen told The Esports Observer. “Yeah, it’s been many years. For a veteran of CSGO like Gundersen, in Pyjama, Ninjas explains how far a counter-strike sportive scene is expanding.
He describes his new role as his “dream job.” For many years Gundersen has been around for the game, especially in Korea in 2003 at the World Cyber Games. The esports industry has grown rapidly since then, but the COO has noted that the game and its followers are still the same.
“It took us a lot longer than we thought it should grow,” he said. “There was a real feeling then.
Including rival organisations, Gundersen strategies for Ninjas in Pyjamas include the creation of the counter-strike: the global offensive scene. In fact, Gundersen claimed that the aim is to make the company self-sufficient whether it be in “one, two or five years.”
he business model was based on a “business model,” which involves having a more structured approach to the situation, together with a “sounder revenue system.” Ninjas announced plans for its new headquarters in Stockholm together with its hiring of Gundersen. In 2018 the HQ opened with a Bootcamp, a workshop, classrooms, and even a venue for parties and events. Fifty NiP staff and players, including marketing, social media and video, are working at the Stockholms office.
The furniture and swanish stylish architecture in the Scandanavian style give way to the gym, theatre, and the classroom. This compares sharply with its initial Swedish Lanskrona office, which is packed with sports equipment and almost infinite display systems and desktops. NiP’s Battlegrounds, CSGO, Paladins, and the Legends players spend some time training for major tournaments.
Which changes the Swedish office will be able to make in 2020 is uncertain.
