The first CS:GO major of the year is about to kick off and we can’t be more excited about that! During the first day of the major, we will have two EU vs NA matches, teams like Renegades will play on the international stage after many months, there’s so much stuff happening that it might be a bit overwhelming.
The PGL Major Antwerp 2022 features a $1,000,000 prize, which means that the teams participating will try their hardest to get a big share of the prize pool. While some matches might feature some of the very best teams in the world, we can’t forget about those teams that’ll try to upset many of the bigger teams. And most of the time, it’s those types of matches that end up being the most exciting ones. Enough talk, let’s dive into the matches!
G2 Esports vs Team Liquid
The good ol’ Europe vs North America is finally here. Now, we all know that Europe has a very good record against North America, but we can’t deny how exciting it is to watch these two regions battle it out.
Europe’s G2 Esports didn’t manage to sneak directly into the Legends Stage which surprised a lot of us. Team Liquid, on the other hand, was on a very good run in North America where they won many games in a row. But Brazil’s PaiN Gaming managed to stop Team Liquid right on their tracks. This happened at the PREMIER Blast Spring Showdown quarter-finals, and as mentioned before, TL looked like the favorites because of their form, but PaiN Gaming ultimately took them down.
TL’s Shox will be facing his former team in this series and we can be sure that he’ll put up a good show, making this one of the most exciting matches to watch on the first day of the event.
ForZe vs Renegades
You might be surprised to see this match here, but let’s be honest, it’s teams like Renegades that always deliver the best matches to watch. ForZe comes into this game as the clear favorites, but we’ve seen them lose against weaker teams because of their over-aggression.
While ForZe might win some games thanks to their reckless playstyle, other games they end up losing solely for this reason. It’s going to be very interesting to see which faces these two teams show at their first game of the Major.
We have to admit that if Renegades comes badly prepared for this match, we might have a very short game. ForZe is more than capable of taking down a team of the Renegade’s caliber, which means that if things go well for them, they’ll simply roll over the opposition.
This is just the first day of the Major and there will be so much action going on. Stay tuned as we’ll keep talking about the best matches throughout the duration of the tournament.
