Your choice of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 decides a lot about your performance. The loot pool has some of the strangest additions so far, but also some of the weirder weapons we’ve seen.
The game’s loot definitely looks exciting at the launch of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 patch. It includes some weapons with unique mechanics like thermal vision, along with energy weapons, and some good old-fashioned innovations on the core FN guns. The Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons aren’t all top tier though, some of them are pretty wonky and might even blow an otherwise decent game.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 Weapons Tier List
That’s all of the loot that’s in the pool for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons. Not all of these are going to carry you to win games in Fortnite Chapter 4 though. We’ve got fewer choices for shotugns and ARs than normal, but there are still a few weapons which really stand out.
This is how the Fortnite C4 S3 weapons line up this season, and how the tier lists break down. The higher weapons are those that are worth prioritising in lotting this season.
S Tier
Thermal DMR
This is new for this season and it’s fantastic so far. It’s a DMR, but the new thermal site really makes this one top tier. In the new Jungle biome or searching out that last hiding player in a moving circle, the Thermal DMR is definitely the top choice in the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons.
Drum Shotgun
The Drum Shotgun is back this year! It now comes in a mythic variety which does a lot more damage. Rather than having one shot kills on the head like last season’s havoc, this shotgun can fire incredibly fast. Its damage per shot is a bit lower, but with so many bullets so quick it still stands out as one of the best Fortnite C4 S3 weapons.
Combat SMG
The Combat SMG has made a return this season. It’s not quite as good as the Twin Mag, but can still take people down in a single clip. If you go for the SMG boosting Fortnite Augments, this one is easily top tier.
Havoc Pump Shotgun
The Havoc Pump isn’t as strong as it was in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2. However, it still gets the job done. This is the shotgun for those wanting to trust their skills and accuracy this season.
Heisted Run N Gun SMG
Weirdly the Heisted weapons which initially looked like they were only here for a two-week event have become some of the Fortnite Chapter 4 weapons with the most longevity. This SMG has the same strengths but an extra boost to stamina. There is basically no mobility right now, so having unlimited sprints is big.
A Tier – Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 Weapons Tier List
The A Tier is the next step down for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons. These guns aren’t bad by any means. For most players, they’re still going to be an important part of your loadout this season. These are the guns in this tier.
Heavy Sniper
The Heavy Sniper is a gun built around a specific skill set. If you’re a decent sniper, it’s the best gun in the game. This one rarely leaves the higher tiers. If you can’t use snipers well, stick with the thermal, but otherwise, it’s still pretty strong.
Flapjack Rifle
The Flapjack Rifle is a weird one. Its rotating bullets can be a bit tricky to figure out and the recoil is a pain. It can deal great damage especially if you’re accurate though. This is a gun that is going to be impressive when you’re watching streamers and Fortnite esports pros pop off with it, but might be tricky for your average player to make the most out of.
Cybertron Cannon
The Cybertron Cannon is a new energy-style pick in the Fortnite C4 S3 weapons. It’s a slow-firing gun with quite a few animations making it impossible to fire immediately. Its bullets are something else though. This fires out large spheres of energy which explode. In certain builds or team situations, it’s going to come in very handy. It’s a lot more circumstantial compared to most of the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons though.
Maven Auto Shotgun
The Maven Auto has stuck around the loot pool for quite a while but has been pretty much outplayed for most of its time. It’s a softer-hitting but more forgiving shotgun. This isn’t too bad and can still be taken quite far, but it’s beaten by the other shottys once again.
Red-Eye Assault Rifle
The Red Eye’s site and fast fire rate gives it a lot of fans. It has competition this season though in the Thermal DMR. That site is infinitely more helpful, but the AR can still be useful in mid-range fights.
Submachine Gun
The standard sub doesn’t have much to distinguish it from the other sub this season. Either will really get the job done, but it’s the heisted versions that are most valuable.
Tactical Pistol
Chapter 4’s pistol continues to make a fool out of players who spent three chapters ignoring the sidearm. It’s much more competent than it used to be. If you’re going the Pistol-augment run, this is a surprisingly fantastic gun.
Kinetic Boomerang
Another new including to the Fortnite C4 S3 weapons. This basically homes in on enemies if you can aim it properly. Along with the secondary fire of an explosion, it’s possible to do a lot of damage with this! It’s not the highest tier but it’s much more useful than its gimmick suggests.
Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle
The Havoc Suppressed AR has had a few improvements since it was originally introduced and it’s become a decent gun to carry. This one takes a bit more skill to use, but being quieter and more heavy hitting than some other ARs in the Fortnite Chapter 4 season 3 weapons, it has a clear place in the meta.
B Tier
Those are most of the top Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons. There are more in the loot pool this season though. These guns here are largely lower because they are too circumstantial. They just aren’t viable for every game, but if you want to build a loadout around them then it might be helpful to have them on hand this season still.
- Chug Cannon
- Heisted breacher Shotgun
- Heisted Accelerant Shotgun
- Shadow Tracker
C Tier
We’ve only got one weapon in the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons tier list at the very bottom. The wildwasp jar. It’s kind of funny to chuck angry wasps at someone, but this just doesn’t do enough to warrant being any higher.
That’s how everything breaks down for the Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 weapons! As the season progresses and get more updates, things are sure to change. Keep an eye out for more patch notes as the game’s content is definitely going to get changed up as the season settles in.
