Best CSGO Settings to Improve Your Game

by Zlosterr

With CSGO being such a competitive title in the gaming space, anything you can do to help is key. Here are some of the best CSGO Settings to improve your game.

CSGO is one of the most competitive eSports in the world. Thousands of people compete daily and hope to become some top players. Needless to say, only a few of them succeed and get the chance to play on the big stage.

People who want to become professional players need to have complex skills because CSGO is competitive. Unsurprisingly, they also need proper gaming gear because things like a good mouse and headset can significantly impact CSGO.

In addition to both things mentioned above, people who want to play also use the right console commands. There are tons of CFGs out there, but casual players who copy them usually have problems with some individual settings. That’s why this guide will introduce some things you should focus on while playing.

Jumping with your Mousewheel

This has to be one of the most common yet useful commands you can use because it helps in all sorts of situations. Whether you use mouse wheel up or mouse wheel down is up to you because both things work.

The idea of this bind is to help you jump faster and become more challenging to hit. You can either go to settings to change it or open your console and type bind “mwheelup (or down)” “+ jump”. Once that’s ready, you should be able to jump much faster and even attempt to make the so-called “bunny hop”. The latter is more complex and requires a lot of skills, so keep that in mind.

Make your minimap more useful

One of the things that every CSGO player has to take into consideration is that the minimap is extremely important. Needless to say, every pro player uses different commands to make this option more useful. One of them allows you to see your complete minimap, giving you a better overview of everything.

The easiest way to enable this option is to open your console and type cl_radar_scale .3. Once you have a good map overview, you can double-check where your enemies are coming from. This setting can be pretty useful when playing with random people, especially if you don’t trust them when it comes down to making calls.

Net Graph

This setting won’t give you any direct advantage while playing, but it allows you to keep track of different critical stats. Aside from the FPS, you can also view things like loss, choke, ping, etc. Access to this information allows you to spot any problems with your PC ot network.

You can enable this by opening the console and typing “net_graph 3”. This has always been one of the most popular commands, including in games like CS 1.6.

Optional – quick buy buttons

There were times in CS 1.6 when people used tons of macros and things so that they could buy their weapons faster. However, pro tournaments added more freeze time at the beginning of each round. As a result, there was no need for such things anymore because everyone could buy a weapon.

Of course, this thing is also available in CSGO. In fact, you don’t need to play in an event to have access to freeze time because every competitive match has it. Yet, if you want to purchase some weapons quicker than others, you can use a wide range of quick buy options.

The simplest thing you can do is to type bind *your key of choice” buy (weapon of choice). For example, you can type something like BIND “F1” buy “AWP”. In fact, you can add multiple options to the same bind key, such as a vest, smokes, defuser, and so on.

There are many situations where you may have to mute your teammates

Unless you’re playing with a friend, you will most likely meet four random people and try to win a competitive match. Some players you will play with are cool, and know that they should not spam. However, that guy is always super noisy or even flames for no reason.

If you want to do everything you can to win, it is probably a good idea to mute this person and focus on your own gameplay. With that being said, many people do not want to mute their teammates because they think they might miss out on important information. That’s why they use the voise_scale command, followed by a given number. This thing will basically reduce the voice volume, which means you can hear more in-game stuff.

Crosshair changing

We don’t like losing, especially while using our favorite weapon. Sadly, those things happen, which is why some players decide to take action and change some of their core settings while playing. Unsurprisingly, most people go for mouse sensitivity because it has the biggest impact.

Although playing with a different sensitivity might seem like a good idea, it isn’t. You will most likely fail to adapt, and things will get worse. Fortunately, you don’t need to change your sensitivity to improve your gameplay because all it takes is to use a different kind of crosshair.

Many players underestimate their crosshairs because they think that it doesn’t matter. Unsurprisingly, this is not the case because using a different crosshair allows you to be more effective with certain weapons.

Zoom sensitivity

The last thing we’d like to include here will be effective for those who like to use weapons like the AWP. If you like scopes, one of the things you need to check is your zoom sensitivity. The latter is usually set to 1, which should match your mouse sense. However, this is not the case, which is why people use a zoom sensitivity of 0.81.
