Bel’veth release and much more

by eSportsJunkie Staff

The League of Legends community definitely expected the durability update to change gameplay quite drastically. And it did deliver that, with some champions becoming way too powerful, while others struggled to find a place for themselves on Summoner’s Rift (mainly assassins).

Riot Games attempted to quickly solve this by applying several fixes in Patch 12.10b, but now is the time that League of Legends will see bigger changes once more. With Patch 12.11, arriving on live servers today, various champions and items are getting hit with either a buff or a nerf. A number of changes will hardly impact the game, so expect a few shifts in meta across the different lanes and regions.

Most importantly, Bel’Veth, the Empress of the Void will finally go live in the game after an exciting trailer and a couple of teasers. Like previous patches, a few new skins will also launch in the shop.

Now let’s start talking about most likely the  significant changes within the patch:

-Aphelios

Passive – The Hitman and the Seer

His passive will have way better scaling via the lethality level ups, providing the previous early lethality max players a way back into the meta.

*Bonus attack speed: 6/12/18/24/30/36 percent to 7.5/15/22.5/30/37.5/45 percent

*Bonus lethality: 4.5/9/13.5/18/22.5/27 to 5.5/11/16.5/22/27.5/33

-Brand

Passive – Blaze

In a bruiser/tank meta where most of them are weak to items like  Liandry’s Torment, Brand’s ability to constantly stack a double burn procc was way too much to handle for some as such he got hit in this department.

Passive burn damage: Three percent maximum health over four seconds to 2.5 percent maximum health over four seconds

Detonate burn damage: 10-14 percent (levels 1-17) maximum health to 9-13 percent (levels 1-17) maximum health

-Gwen

W – Hallowed Mist / E – Skip ‘n Slash

Gwen has always been a staple pick within any meta, however due to her being the best anti tank option within the toplane, Riot decided to attack a favorite meme within the community “Gwen is Immune”. As her W now has less benefits when Gwen is within it.

W-Bonus armor and MR while inside mist: 20 (+five percent AP) to 12/14/16/18/20 (+five percent AP)

Cooldown: 22/20/18/16/14 to 22/21/20/19/18 seconds

E-Cooldown refunded on first attack: 60 percent to 50 percent

-Swain

Passive – Ravenous Flock / W – Vision of Empire / R – Demonic Ascension

Swain has been tearing the rift apart, with his bold tankiness and healing plus a surprising burst of damage when used correctly. Especially in low elo where most players do not buy anti-healing items or are able to kite his ultimate, Swain has seen a lot of success. This nerf focuses on slowing down his overall healing potential in order to be more punishable.

Passive-Healing: 3.5/4.5/5.5/7 percent to 3/4/5/6 percent

W-Magic damage: 80/120/160/200/240 (+70 percent AP) to 80/115/150/185/220 (+55 percent AP)

R-Healing per tick: 15/30/45 (+20 percent AP) to 15/27.5/40 (+18 percent AP)

These are just some of the major changes we thought were most noticeable at first within the patch, however much more was implemented. As players continue to experiment with new techniques and builds we will see how long these nerfs or buffs last in the meta.
