Beasley Media Group, which recently acquired Overwatch League franchise Houston Outlaws, has announced the promotion of Lori Burgess to the newly-created position of chief operating officer at Beasley Esports. Burgess will oversee day-to-day operations of Beasley’s esports business.
Most recently, Burgess served as chief digital content officer for Beasley Media Group. She has over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry, including work for The Hollywood Reporter, House & Garden, and Seventeen Magazine.
“The esports industry is on the verge of going mainstream,” said Burgess in a release. “…The company’s ability to provide compelling esports content, leverage strategic partnerships and compete at the most elite levels will ensure our foundation as this sector begins to dominate the media and sports-market/entertainment conversation and commands more sponsorship partnerships.”
