Esports data company Bayes Esports and Shadow.gg have developed a data-driven application to enhance esports engagement for media and betting companies.
The tool, “Esports Widgets,” will facilitate the curation of data through official channels, computer vision, and 24/7 manual monitoring to provide users with a “modern look and feel.”

The technology promises deep insights and content opportunities from every esports match across pre-game, post-game, and in-play. These features include the coverage of esports tournaments from “basic data to deep granularity of match events and statistics” to create visually compelling stories. Through this application, platforms can display complete 2D visualisations and replays as well as player positioning and object trajectories in real-time.
Bayes Esports and Shadow.gg are both subsidiaries of Bayes Holding, which had rebranded from DOJO Madness in January of this year. The brand transformation was prompted by the holding company’s renewed B2B-focused marketing strategy after forming Bayes Esports through a joint venture with Sportradar.

In August 2019, Bayes Esports inked a partnership with Riot Games to acquire the data distribution rights to League of Legends esports. A month later in September, the company unveiled BEDEX, an esports data exchange to connect data right holders, consumers, and service providers of the industry.
Esports Insider says: Esports Widgets is intended to set a “new standard” in audience engagement and would appear to have the features to support the claim. It remains to be determined whether or not the interface attachment will get the traction it’s hoping for, or which platforms will opt to utilise it.
