Banned for Streaming the CS:GO Major

by devaccess

So, this weekend a bunch of CS:GO streamers were banned from Twitch and served DMCA takedown notices by the company producing the Berlin Major, StarLadder.

One of them was popular CS streamer and personality fl0m. I talked to him about what happened, looked at what StarLadder’s rules and regulations actually say about this and ask the question: Where do we go from here?

It is simple to solve: replace and ban Star Ladder. GO Tv rules should be like Dota Tv.

This actually made me so angry over the past few days, honestly a company like starladder should not host a csgo major ever again or any tournament in the Esports scene … pathetic

I mean honestly I think the perfect resolution for streaming is 720p @ 60fps. (And boo to Starladder!)

CSGO is valve's least favourite child, statement most likely not coming out since they don't care

This is simple, star ladder streams their events, and wants viewers on their channel watching it. What does flom expect, he’s stealing their viewers and potential revenue. As for flom saying this should be made more clear and you shouldn’t have to dig around their site to find the rules. You’re literally re broadcasting a huge event, you do this to ufc or wwe or anything, they aren’t going to be happy about it. It’s not their responsibility to make sure the rules are posted in huge bold letter on the main page of their website, common sense would say reach out and ask if it is allowed. I’ve never streamed and I’ve never re broadcasted anything, I have no knowledge of the rules. That being said I figured it would be common sense that your now allowed to do this, I would reach out and ask before jeopardizing my huge twitch channel.

Completly unproffessional from Starladder. They couldve just advised you freindly to take the stream down instead of banning instandly. Grow up jeez x)

So you are pouting because you are stealing content and profiting with it and they banned you for that? "They" have no obligation of saying what you can or can not stream when it is clearly written on their statues.
Learn to take an L and don't use the argument "it was never necessary" because that is stupid, and there is no Grey area like the video says, you are in the wrong and just because you usually don't get banned doesn't make it right
