Zack “Asmongold” (last name unknown) continues to sit at the top of Twitch with the most hours watched among influencers.
Meanwhile, Hearthstone esports see another increase in hours watched on an esports-light week.
The following channels are ranked according to the total number of hours watched on Twitch from Monday to the following Sunday, with data compiled using TEO Access.
On Top of the World
Zack “Asmongold” (last name unknown) solidified his spot as the most-watched channel on Twitch for the third time in four weeks, and despite World of Warcraft, the game he exclusively streams, experiencing week-over-week declines in viewership.
Though Asmongold’s viewership was strong enough to keep him as the top influencer on Twitch, this is the first week that his hours watched total has come down to earth compared to the astronomical numbers he had surrounding the release of World of Warcraft Classic.
During the first three weeks of WoW Classic’s time on Twitch, Asmongold averaged 64K CCV or higher. This week marked the first time since Classic’s launch that Asmongold saw a significant drop in average viewership to 56K CCV, down from 65K CCV the week before.
Main Squeeze
French YouTuber Lucas “Squeezie” Hauchard isn’t known for providing content on Twitch, but during a French charity event this past week called Z Event, Hauchard’s streams provided Twitch viewers a curveball that generated 2M hours watched on Twitch.
According to the Z Event website, the charity effort raised over €3.5M for the Institut Pasteur. Hauchard led 49 streamers who broadcasted during the event with an average of 52K CCV, peaking at 167K.
Esports Absence
With the Summer Split over for League of Legends and a break in Overwatch League playoff action before this weekend’s grand finals, only one esports related channel managed to make it into the top 10.
In the past few weeks, Hearthstone’s revamped esports, the GrandMasters Season 2, has seen viewership ramp up week-over-week. Though this is the highest viewership total “PlayHearthstone” has experienced so far this season, it was only week five for the league’s second season. There are still two weeks left before the GrandMasters has its playoffs.
In the new esports series’ first season that spanned from May-July, viewership took a different turn from the beginning to the end of the season. Viewership at the beginning of the GrandMasters Season 1 was notably stronger than it was as weeks past, and the playoffs failed to match the viewership marks of the first couple of weeks of regular season play.
