Gen.G is focused to finish in the top ranks in the upcoming Summer Split. For this purpose, the side has made multiple changes to its roster in the off-season. The team has almost completely changed it’s lineup by recently signing, Kim “Asper” Tae-gi and Lee “Rich” Jae-won.
Asper joins the LCK side after being a substitute for Hanwha Life in the Spring Season. Unfortunately, he played only one pro game and it was defeat against SK Telecom. We won’t be seeing him much this season as well, since he plays second fiddle to Life. Life has been consistently making the first team alongside Ruler since CoreJJ left for Liquid.
From Heroes of the Storm to LoL
Yet the most interesting signing of the season is Rich. He formerly represented the Gen.G organization in Heroes of the Storm. Rich is rated an one of the best players of the player of the game. He has been crowned the International LAN champion on three occasions. It included being crowned the world champion back to back in 2017 and 2018. It just shows that player is well capable of achieving successful results in MOBA titles.
The big question on everyone’s mind is how this Heroes of the Storm player will compete in the mid lane of Summoner’s Rift. Since the LCK hold some of the top players like Heo “PawN” Won-seok, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, and Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok to name a few. Heroes, is not the most technical game in the world. Yet it focuses on making team rotations and competing in 1v1 and 2v2 duels, which is a quite common aspect in LoL. We would love to see how Rich will adopt technical carries like Illidan and Hanzo. Since he will need to learn them in order to make his mark in the LCK.

Gen.G’s mid lane problem
Rich and Kuzan, who recruited a few weeks ago will aim to provide solutions for the mid lane problem of Gen.G. The side previously had Song “Fly” Yong-jun in the mid lane, who had his fair share of troubles, as he had an average of just 1.4 kills per game.
We really hope that Kuzan and Rich we turn things around for the team in the mid. Kuzan represented ES Sharks in the Challengers League of the 2019 Spring Split. He has also qualified for the playoffs in 2015. Meanwhile, RIch makes his way to Gen.G after having a luxurious career in another MOBA title. He will surely need time to adopt to the competitive worlds of League of Legends.
In the early days of the Summer Split, the side will be relying on the veteran jungler, Han “Peanut” Wang-ho to form a solid bond with Lee “CuVee” Seong-jin the top lane to lead the side to victory. They can also rely on their ADC, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk to carry the team victory. We are anxious to see how this lineup will perform when the season kicks off on the 1st June.
