MIBR advances to the finale of ECS Season 7 qualifiers – esportsjunkie

MIBR is in the finale of the fifth week of ECS Season 7 North America. The Brazilians beat Cloud9 2-0 with: 16-10 on Nuke and 16-7 on Overpass. Now the team will compete for the first place in the region against the winner of the clash between Team Liquid and INTZ. The final of week five will be played later today. The champion will be guaranteed a spot for the LAN finals in London, England, that take place on June 6-9.

Game 1

Made in Brazil picked Nuke as the first map of the series. The Brazilians lost the pistol round, but this was the only setback for the team throughout the first half of the match. The side led by Gabriel ” FalleN ” Toledo won 14 consecutive rounds on the CT side and went into the break with an astonishing 1-14 lead.

Cloud9 came back with a different strategy for the second half. The Americans triumphed in the pistol round and this time did not collapsed in the following rounds, as they managed to close the lead 6-14. MIBR was slow to recover in the economy, since they had to fight hard to claim the victory as the NA side managed to get 10 points on the board. Yet the Brazilians ended up winning 10-16.

Game 2

In Overpass, one of the best maps of MIBR in recent championships, the Brazilians came out all guns blazing. The green and yellow team inaugurated the second game by picking the CT side and, despite losing the pistol round, gave Cloud9 a very tough time. MIBR went to the interval with 11-4 lead on the scoreboard after a great performance by Fernando ” fer ” Alvarenga .

Cloud9 did not repeat the previous map’s feat and and was comprehensively dominated in the second half. The Americans trailed on the scoreboard and failed to make a mark playing a CTs. The representatives of Brazil executed their strategy to perfection and gave no chances to the opposition, they closed the series with a 16-7 win in the second game.
