TI 2024 is approaching, so Valve decided to share some light. Let’s learn more information about it.
Even though there is still time until The Internationa 2024, Valve decided to share more information about it. From what we know, TI 2024 will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, which means the most prestigious Dota 2 tournament is back in Europe.
TI 2024 in Copenhagen
We did not expect Valve to “pull back the curtain” so early because the company usually shares information about TI around May. This time, however, we learned the tournament location.
What’s so special about TI2024 is that it will be the first TI in Europe since 2021. There will be 16 teams that will compete for the Aegis, which means slightly fewer participants than before. Besides making the event more competitive, it also means that teams should be able to win more money than before.
The qualifications for TI 2024
Before we get to see one of Dota 2’s biggest events, we also have to watch the qualifiers. Since there isn’t a DPC, Dota 2’s devs decided to go back to the OG invite process, which means that it will hand-pick the participants. We are not sure what the criteria will be, but we would not be surprised if the picks are based on ESL”s Pro Tour rank.
Besides the direct invitations, we will also have Open Qualifiers and Regional Qualifiers. We can’t wait to see what’s going to happen and which teams will attend the event. Make sure you follow ESTNN for more information, and remember to pay attention to DreamLeague Season 22 and the other big Dota 2 events. There are a lot of other events that will take place in the next couple of months, so stay tuned.
Conclusion
It seems like Denmark will be one of the hottest destinations for eSports in Europe in 2024. Besides The International 2024, the country will host the first CS2 Major, which will begin on March 17.
