by The Old One

Here are the top 10 CS2 players who dominated at IEM Katowice 2024

The first-ever CS2 IEM Katowice has concluded, crowning Team Spirit as its winner. This event was full of upsets, and we saw many underdog players take the spotlight for their team.

After looking at the HLTV stats, we have compiled the top 10 CS2 players at IEM Katowice 2024. To simplify the list, we only included one player per team.

10. Guy “NertZ” Iluz – Heroic

  • HLTV Rating: 1.10
  • Impact Rating: 1.25
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 69.9%
  • Average Damage per Round: 82.9
  • Kills Per Round: 0.76

Although Heroic failed to go to the Playoffs after the Lower Bracket Final loss against G2, the team’s 24-year-old player, NertZ, did well in several series.

The Israeli rifler helped Heroic to succeed against Vitality by securing 68 kills in the Bo3. His best performance, however, comes from the team’s Lower Bracket Semifinal match facing GamerLegion, where NertZ had an HLTV rating of 1.58 on Mirage.

9. Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli – Complexity Gaming

  • HLTV Rating: 1.09
  • Impact Rating: 1.12
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 70.2%
  • Average Damage per Round: 72.9
  • Kills Per Round: 0.71

Despite Complexity’s failure to get to the playoffs, this time, it was the team’s AWPer who secured the best player title in the North American roster.

The 2-1 loss against Falcons is where the 23-year-old had his best performance. In the Lower Bracket Semifinal series, hallzerk tried his best to avoid the inevitable loss through a 53-37 K-D, securing a rating of 1.32.

8. Dorian “xertioN” Berman – MOUZ

  • HLTV Rating: 1.11
  • Impact Rating: 1.16
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 70.9%
  • Average Damage per Round: 79.3
  • Kills Per Round: 0.70

MOUZ was one of the better teams at Katowice, and the team’s Israeli entry fragger, xertioN, had incredible stats in matches against GamerLegion and ENCE.

The 19-year-old’s performance against GamerLegion was monumental, with a 35-16 K-D on Overpass, helping him secure an HLTV rating of 1.78. Unfortunately, he failed to step up for MOUZ in the Semifinal match against FaZe.

7. Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut – Team Vitality

  • HLTV Rating: 1.32
  • Impact Rating: 1.43
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 75.2%
  • Average Damage per Round: 87.3
  • Kills Per Round: 0.84

The Paris Major MVP continued to perform for Vitality at this event, even though the French team failed to get a single victory in the Group Stage.

Vitality’s series against ENCE was the best we saw from the 23-year-old, as he got an HLTV rating of 1.46 on Nuke with a K-D of 19-14. This performance, however, did not lead to a win for the Paris Major title holders.

6. David “frozen” Čerňanský – FaZe Clan

  • HLTV Rating: 1.13
  • Impact Rating: 1.18
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 73.2%
  • Average Damage per Round: 82.9
  • Kills Per Round: 0.76

Almost every member of FaZe had incredible form throughout Katowice. However, frozen stood out as the best thanks to his consistency, which allowed the legendary roster to reach the Grand Final.

The 21-year-old rifler stepped up for his team from the Group Stage to the Playoffs. Unfortunately, he struggled in the most important match against Team Spirit, losing the Grand Final in a 0-3 series. Nonetheless, frozen’s best record comes from FaZe’s first match against Rebels, where he secured a 1.89 rating through 24-10 K-D.

5. İsmailсan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş – Eternal Fire

  • HLTV Rating: 1.17
  • Impact Rating: 1.35
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 72.4%
  • Average Damage per Round: 89.3
  • Kills Per Round: 0.81

Even though the Turkish team Eternal Fire’s journey was pretty short at Katowice, the roster’s co-owner and rifler’s excellence landed him on this list.

28-year-old XANTARES had great stats against FaZe and NAVI, even though his team lost both series. His best performance was an HLTV rating of 1.73 on Nuke, going against Falcons.

4. Ihor “w0nderful” Zhdanov – Natus Vincere

  • HLTV Rating: 1.25
  • Impact Rating: 1.20
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 76.1%
  • Average Damage per Round: 81.8
  • Kills Per Round: 0.81

IEM Katowice was another disappointment from NAVI. However, with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev’s hiatus, 19-year-old w0nderful tried to take this legendary team to the distance.

The young AWPer has proven himself to be an excellent addition to the team, as he secured good ratings consistently in the Group Stage. On the NAVI vs Falcons series, w0nderful dominated on Ancient with a 26-12 K-D, getting an HLTV rating of 1.77.

3. Aleksander “hades” Miskiewicz – ENCE

  • HLTV Rating: 1.12
  • Impact Rating: 1.11
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 73.6%
  • Average Damage per Round: 73.6
  • Kills Per Round: 0.73

ENCE had an impressive run in the Group Stage, where they defeated teams like Vitality and G2 to secure Playoffs. Polish IGL and AWPer hades was the team’s best player, showing an incredible look that has continued over from 9INE.

The 24-year-old has shown promising stats by wielding the nerfed AWP of CS2. His best look was against Vitality on Nuke, where a 22-9 K-D allowed him to secure a 1.81 HLTV rating.

2. Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov – G2 Esports

  • HLTV Rating: 1.22
  • Impact Rating: 1.24
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 73.9%
  • Average Damage per Round: 78.8
  • Kills Per Round: 0.77

The Flash is the second-best player of IEM Katowice, and his consistent fragging helped G2 reach the Quarterfinals through a highly competitive Group Stage.

The 18-year-old AWPer’s best was against Heroic, especially the 16-13 victory on Overpass, where m0NESY had an incredible 39-12 K-D, landing him a rating of 2.07.

1. Danil “donk” Kryshkovets – Team Spirit

  • HLTV Rating: 1.25
  • Impact Rating: 1.35
  • Kill/Assist/Survived/Traded: 73.7%
  • Average Damage per Round: 86.9
  • Kills Per Round: 0.83

This 17-year-old from Russia was the best player of IEM Katowice 2024 by a significant margin. The former academy player led Team Spirit, a squad that’s barely had any achievements in S-tier events, from the Play-In stage to securing the trophy of a historical LAN.

Katowice witnessed the most consistent performance out of any other players in donk. From Play-In to Grand Final, the youngster secured MVP in all seven series, cementing a monumental performance in the early days of CS2.

His best performance comes from the Grand Final Bo5, where the Russian’s 26-8 K-D performance on Overpass led to Team Spirit winning the third map with a dominating 13-3 scoreline. The rifler and entry fragger for the team achieved his highest HLTV 2.0 rating (2.38) on that map.
