The Grand Finals of Worlds, Weibo Gaming vs T1 is coming – can Faker get his 4th title?
The last match of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship is this weekend! The competition started with 2 teams in the Worlds Qualifying Series, continued with 8 squads in the Play-Ins, then with 16 at the Main Event – but only two remains standing. Weibo Gaming has defied all odds to get here, while T1 is trying to erase last year, and win it all! Only one question remains – who will triumph?

Weibo Gaming is the biggest surprise of the 2023 World Championship. After barely making it to the playoffs of the Summer LPL, they just got 2nd place in the Regional Finals, getting the 4th Chinese spot in the last second.
They lost to G2 Esports and KT Rolster in the Swiss Stage, but then went on an undefeated streak until the quarterfinals – all against Western teams. TheShy fans feared that Weibo was one Eastern team away from elimination, but they stood firm against Bilibili Gaming, knocking the 2nd seed out of the competition.

Faker and his disciples faced tougher opponents that WBG, but still had an easier time getting to the Grand Final. The only team they suffered defeat from is their age-old nemesis, Gen.G back in the Swiss Stage, but outside of that loss, they won all of their matches.
They already beat all the LPL teams: Bilibili Gaming 2-0 to qualify for the Knockout Stage; LNG Esports 3-0 in the quarterfinals; then faced the supposed big bad of Worlds, JD Gaming, who were on the verge of completing their golden road, but lost to T1 1-3. Now only the 4th seed of the region remains, which should be an easier job for the LCK squad.

Weibo Gaming vs T1 Predictions
Weibo Gaming has always been an outlier if you looked at the LPL representatives. They are not as aggressive in the early and midgame, and they play much slower as a result. They also make less out of the Baron Nashors as other teams, even though they usually take at least one of them. Their first tower and first blood numbers are okay, but they play more like an LCK team than an LPL team.
This could surprise T1 and co., who have showcased that they can take the LPL aggression down, but lost to Gen.G. But Weibo Gaming is supposed to beat Faker in his own game, and there’s no team better than teamfighting than T1 right now.
