Let’s take a look at some of the first trends following the Dota 2 Patch 7.34d.
Despite the fact that we did not expect to see a new Dota 2 patch, 7.34 d arrived just a couple of days before The International 12. There is no arguing that this has a lot of pros and cons, but one thing is certain: TI12 will be even more interesting to watch.
We have covered some of the biggest winners and losers of the Dota 2 Patch 7.34d, but now, it’s time to take a look at the first trends. The patch has been out for around 3 days now, so we have some data to work with. It’s interesting to see which heroes are winning and which are suffering the most, so let’s dive in.
Phantom Assassin and Sven have below 50% win Rate
Prior to the arrival of the Dota 2 Patch 7.34d, Phantom Assassin and Sven were two of the biggest heroes in the game. We kept setting them in pretty much every game, including the different professional matches. However, the newest Dota 2 patch has put an end to their reign because both heroes received hard nerfs.
Even though Phantom Assassin continues to be one of the go-to heroes with a 23.33% pick rate, the Patch 7.34d in Dota 2 dropped her win rate by almost 6%. Consequently, PA’s current win rate is around 46.77%, which is a lot lower than a couple of days ago.
The situation with Sven is very similar, but he lost even more pick rate. Although the hero was not as popular as PA in PUBs before the arrival of 7.34d, now, his pick rate is around 8.73%. As for his win rate, this hero is at 46%, which is slightly lower than the one of Phantom Assassin.
The worst thing about these two heroes is the situation they are in. The trend for both heroes does not look good, so we expect to have an even lower win rate in the next couple of weeks.
Pangolier is also suffering
Despite the fact that Pangolier did not receive as many nerfs as Phantom Assassin and Sven, one thing is certain, the hero is not as good as before. The 7.34d Dota 2 patch increases Pango’s mana cost for his core abilities. Consequently, the hero is just not that efficient early on and relies on his support for mana. Besides the fact that he can’t spam his abilities when he wants to, he also has to be careful and save his mana when he needs to escape.
If we take a look at the stats, we can see that Pango’s win rate prior to 7.34d was not that impressive. The bad news is that it is even worse than before because Pango’s current WR is 42.59%, which is almost 3.54% lower than before. Sadly, Pango is slowly becoming one of the worst PUB heroes in the game right now, so it will be interesting to follow his progress in the future.
Spirit Breaker is gaining popularity
Despite the fact that Spirit Breaker was not one of the heroes that received major buffs in 7.34 d, the hero is slowly becoming the hottest option in the game. At the time of writing this article, Spirit Breaker’s Greater Bash now gives 5% move movement speed into damage. In other words, the hero’s overall damage output is slightly higher than before, which allows him to be more useful. Needless to say, we expect Larl Dota 2 and other top-tier players to use him more than before.
Speaking of the stats, Spirit Breaker’s current win rate is 53.49%, which is a lot more than before. The fact that this hero is getting back in the meta will definitely affect professional players, especially those who focus on the mid lane. Previously, heroes like Shadow Fiend were pretty popular, but now that SB is back, we can expect to see tankier midders that can hold their own against ganks.
Luna is coming in hot
When it comes down to heroes who received buffs, we can all agree that Luna is one of the biggest winners of 7.34d. Unlike Phantom Assassin, Luna got a lot better, and the hero is slowly making her way to the top. In fact, we expect her to be one of the top options for most professional Dota 2 teams at The International 12.
Luna’s stats before the new patch were not impressive because the hero had around 47%. Now, she is close to 50%, and the trend is going up, which means that it will probably increase in the next couple of days. Another interesting fact is that Luna’s pick rate almost doubled in the last few days. By the looks of it, the hero could become the new go-to carry.
Spectre is one of the best right now
The last hero that we want to talk about in this Dota 2 Patch 7.34d first trends article is Spectre and the fact that she is one of the best heroes right now. To be fair, Spectre was pretty successful before the arrival of the new patch. With that said, 7.34d gave the hero a small buff because her Shadow Step now has 20 less CD on level 1 and 10 less CD on level 2.
These bufs may not seem significant, but the stats show a different picture. Just a few days after the Dota 2 patch 7.34d arrived, Spectre sits at around 55.62% win rate, which is +2% than before. What’s even more impressive is Spectre’s pick rate, which is up by 4.55%. By the looks of it, this hero will try to fit into Phantom Assasin’s role, but it will be interesting to see if this will be the case.
