ENCE 2-1 Copenhagen Flames
The last time these two teams faced each other was back in the Pinnacle Cup III back in March and the Flames came up on top quite convincingly. A month ago Copenhagen Flames took down the Finnish squad 2-0 and the Flames went on to achieve a winning streak of 5 matches. It’s safe to say that the Danish team was coming into this series quite comfortably because of their recent performance and qualification to the PGL Major Antwerp 2022 Legends Stage.
But none of this seemed to matter that much, the series started on the Vertigo map and ENCE was able to put the Flames out quite convincingly. The Copenhagen Flames only managed to secure 7 rounds as they got dismantled by ENCE. The second map of the series was Mirage, which ENCE picked but didn’t seem to be in a very comfortable position. Copenhagen Flames secured a 5 round lead by the second period and things were going very well for them. The Danes came out on top with a 6 round advantage and now had to defeat ENCE once more time.
Ancient would be the last map of the series and the Finnish squad started strong right off the gates. They finished the first period with a 10-5 score on the CT side. After 10 more rounds, ENCE managed to close out the game thanks to Sphinx’s performance who scored a kill differential of +15 and had the highest ADR of the series with 118
Heroic 2-0 TEAM NKT
This series was much more favorable for one team than the other and it went as expected. The first map of the series was Team NKT’s pick Inferno and they didn’t find any amount of success in this one. Heroic had an 11-round winning streak and NKT only managed to win 2 rounds on T-side during the first period. Now on the CT-side Heroic did drop a few rounds as they got caught off-guard by the Thai organization but still managed to come out on top in this first map.
Heroic’s map pick was Nuke for the second game and this one was much closer than the first one. Team NKT showed signs of potential as they had the lead during the first period with a 10-5 score as CT. Unluckily for them, Heroic came back fiercely as they won 10 rounds straight and closed out the game with 16-11. CadiaN had an amazing performance throughout the whole series and finished with a kill differential of +26 and the highest ADR of the series with 94.8
With these results, we have the first encounter of the semi-finals decided. ENCE will face Heroic on April 29 and the winner will advance to the grand finals of the event. The other side of the bracket will feature Astralis vs Movistar Riders and Ninjas in Pyjamas vs Bad News Eagles. All of these teams are fighting for a share of the $67,000 prize pool and a spot at the BLAST Premier Spring Finals which is happening in June.
