Three simple ways to climb

These simple tips will see you climb the ladder in no time.

Team Fight Tactics is well into its latest season. It’s one of the best received seasons since its launch and has brought in a ton of new players. Mirroring its League of Legends ranking system, Team Fight Tactics offers players the chance to climb the ladder and obtain the best rank. As with every ranking system, there will be players that excel more than others. This simple article can help players who are struggling in the lower tiers and want to reach higher.

Stop spamming the shop

Team Fight Tactics offers a variety of ways to play the game, whether that is leveling quickly to obtain stronger champions, or it’s being conservative and picking your moment. Essentially, the game revolves heavily around its economy. In its simplest form, players earn gold after every round which increases or decreases depending on their performance.

Being solid in the economy game will ensure players will climb the ladder at a faster rate. As we’ll explain later, the economy must be utilized properly, heavily relying on the type of composition you want to use. Consistent problem players in the lower tier have is rerolling in the shop in the hope they get lucky. This is not a smart decision. More often than not, you’ll be left with no gold and would still not have the champion you are after.

While it is difficult at first to resist rolling in the shop, if you’re more conservative with their spending, your chances of finishing in the LP places will improve drastically.

Limit the number of comps you play

One of the problems many players in the lower tiers have is constantly changing up their composition from game to game. While this is fine in the higher tiers, it never really works out well in Bronze and Silver.

Mobalytics is a great website for newer players to use. Even if you don’t follow their guides step by step, their final build image should be enough to get you going in the right direction.

Narrowing your compositions down to one or two will help players climb a lot faster. Having a composition in mind from the start will get players thinking about the end game; and what champions they need from the start in order to achieve that end comp. It’s okay if you have to divot early on. You should always field the strongest comp you can and sometimes the champions you need are not always available in the early game.

Utilize items with low-level units

This section continues on from the topic of specific compositions. Now that you’ve narrowed down your compositions to a couple you like the look of, it’s time to think about items; specifically, the best items your carry champions canuse to help win rounds.

If you’re running a composition that has Cho’Gath as the primary carry, you’ll want to prioritize tank items; such as Warmogs and Redemption.

Although Cho’Gath is your main carry for this comp, early on you would want to put tank items on a 1 or 2 cost champion in the same synergy. Just until you can comfortably bring Cho into the lineup. You want to ensure you are fielding the best possible lineup, and having items sat on the bench could be bad for your HP.
