FLASHPOINT launches as first team-owned CS:GO league

FLASHPOINT, the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive league formerly known as B Site, launched.

Described as the first team-owned league for the Valve title, $2,000,000 (£1,540,450) will be up for grabs in 2020. Owners of the league include Immortals Gaming Club (owner of MIBR), OverActive Media (owner of MAD Lions), Cloud9, Gen.G, Dignitas, and c0ntact Gaming. FACEIT is operating FLASHPOINT and has a minority interest in the league.

Gareth Bale launches Ellevens Esports with 38 Entertainment

Professional footballer Gareth Bale launched Ellevens Esports in partnership with 38 Entertainment Group.

The organisation is starting out in FIFA, having signed a team that will compete in the FIFA eClub World Cup in February. Ellevens Esports is looking to enter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rocket League, and Fortnite in the coming months.

Misfits Gaming gets go-ahead for Boca Raton headquarters

North American organisation Misfits Gaming Group received grants to establish its headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida.

The 18,000 square foot facility is said to be an investment of over $1.35 million (£1,034,775). The group is set to create 30 new jobs with the opening of its corporate headquarters, according to a release.

NBA 2K League finds restaurant partner in Panera Bread

NBA 2K League established a partnership with American restaurant chain Panera Bread.

Panera Bread will provide food for NBA 2K League’s hosts, broadcasts, and players during live broadcasts. The restaurant chain will also be the presenting sponsor of the league’s ‘Rookies Who Deliver’ broadcast segment.
