Dota 2’s SumaiL joins Team OG

by Ben Hill

Recently, after its primary carry over, OG has decided either to retire or break from competing Dota, with three opening slots. OG was already looking for replacements with the legendary back-to-back TI winning stack that reached only two of its core members.

The first OG replacement pick was disclosed and Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan on the tracking role is nothing more. Anathan “ana” Pham will be replaced as the safe carry/position 1 lane. OG declared in its blog: “They strive for excellence is what always drives us to go further here at OG. And that’s precisely what a player like Sumail has to offer.” “He is now ready for a new challenge. Not the kind of guy who’s content with just watching, you know,” the post read.

Sumail is an extremely skilled mid-laner known for his aggressive gameplay, but he is also one of the world’s highest mechanical expertise, as a carrier and core player. He is only at the age of 16 the youngest player ever to win a TI. The reputation of Pakistan’s prodigy is unparalleled in core players and he has consistently overtaken the leading boards in the MMR to prove his high cap.

Sumail as a carrier may seem to many unorthodox, as his principal abilities have reached the midlane, but Sumail already suffered a change when he played carriage in Quincy Crew and managed to show.

It’s nice to see one of the world’s best players joining the world’s top team. The fans and the group can not expect the new lists to work. However, there are two slots and the substitutions must still be confirmed. Therefore it is already time for the new OG team to make further announcements.
The active OG roster is currently:

  • Topias ‘Topson’ Taavitsainen (Position 2)
  • Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan (Position 1)
  • Johan “N0tail” Sundstein (Position 5)
