UMG Media Ltd., part of Torque Esports’ tournament and broadcast operations group, has signed a deal with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios to facilitate, produce, and broadcast the Gears 5 Esports Challenger Series Finals.
According to the release, in the past year UMG has been the home for competitive online Gears of War 4 and Gears 5 play through multiple broadcast activations and its online platform.
Every Wednesday, as part of the partnership, UMG will stream the official Gears Esports Challenger Series Finals for both North America and Latin America. These broadcasts began on Jan. 22, and will run through the end of the season.
“We’re honored to have been selected to operate the Gears Esports Challenge Series Finals broadcast by Microsoft,” said Torque Esports President and CEO, Darren Cox.
Torque Esports, formerly known as Millennial Esports, acquired UMG in October 2019 in a deal that saw Torque also acquire 51% of Allinsports.
