Top 5 Carries at DreamLeague Season 21 To Look Out For

by Zlosterr

Here are the top 5 carries at DreamLeague Season 21 you should keep an eye on

DreamLeague Season 21 will be the last big tournament before The International 12. Considering our DreamLeague Season 21 predictions, we expect this to be an epic tournament where the best teams in the world will have one last go before the big event. The International 12 will be extremely important for everyone, but DL S21 will allow them to practice for the last time before going up against each other.

We did not expect any meta changes prior to this event as well as BetBoom Dacha. However, Valve surprised us with 7.34c, a patch that changed a lot of the top-tier picks from the previous meta. It is highly unlikely to see anything new before this tournament comes into play, so let’s learn more about some of the top 5 carries at DreamLeague Season 21 that you should pay attention to.

Wraith King

WK is a hero who rarely has the chance to shine in the professional scene. In fact, he is one of the heroes that people often refer to as a PUB star. While this is true up to a point, there is no arguing that Wraith King is one of the strongest Dota 2 heroes right now.

The buffs he got in patch 7.34c make him a very solid pick in the current meta. He can farm pretty fast, and his lifesteal allows him to sustain himself on the lane much better than many other heroes.
Currently, WK has more than a 53% win rate in PUB Dota 2 games, meaning he is among the strongest carries. He hasn’t been that big at BetBoom Dacha, but we expect this to change and WK to become one of the top 5 carries at DreamLeague Season 21.

Sven

People who pay attention to the Betoom Dacha tournament will notice that one of the carries there is much more popular than the rest. His name is Sven, and he will probably be one of the best 5 carries at DreamLeage Season 21.

Sven is a very interesting carry who is famous for 2 things – his incredible farming speed and his insane damage output. Players who know how to use this hero can easily carry their team. With that said, Sven also has some weaknesses, such as the fact that he can be kited easily. That’s one of the reasons why some of the professional players decide to ban specific heroes.

In the most recent 7.34c patch, Sven’s Storm Hammer received impressive CD reduction buffs on levels 1, 2, and 3. Sadly, God’s Strength received some nerfs because the slow resistance is now 30% instead of 40% on level 3, and its cooldown is up by 6s on each level. These changes mean that Sven can also be a good support, but most teams prefer to use him in the carry role.

Phantom Assassin

We have to say that some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world surprised us when they started picking Phantom Assassin at BetBoom Dacha. PA is one of those heroes who will always be associated with pun Dota 2. There were times when players like Arteezy focused on her, but she hasn’t been a part of the professional scene for years, let alone to be a top-tier pick.

Even though not that many pro players are using her now, we had the chance to see her in action a couple of times. Phantom Assassin does not have the best early game, but once the hero gets one or two items, she becomes really dangerous to play against. That’s the reason why we believe she will be among the top 5 carries at DreamLeauge Season 21.

Interestingly, Phantom Assassin did not receive any big changes in 7.34c. However, the hero was changed in the previous updates, and it seems like the best Dota 2 players in the world finally decided to take advantage of it.

Morphling

If we put aside Terrorblade, Morphling has to be one of the all-time most popular heroes for professional Dota 2 matches. He is one of the carries that can single-handedly win games, as long as he gets the opportunity to do so. The hero is extremely strong in a variety of situations, and some people even like using him in the midlane.

The big problem with Morphling is the fact that he requires a lot of farm. Some people try going for builds that allow them to take fights early on, but this usually doesn’t work. Consequently, this is one of the heroes that teams focus on when they are planning on going in the late game.

Morphling has all the potential to become one of the top 5 carries at DreamLeague Season 21. Judging by the stats at BetBoom Dacha, he appeared several times, and most teams won the games with him. Similar to Phantom Assassin, Morphling did not receive any changes in 7.34c. As for 7.34b, the latter increased the hero’s STR gain from 3.0 to 3.2.

Lycan

The final hero that could be one of the top 5 carries at DreamLeague Season 21 is Lycan. He has been a part of the meta for around 1 year now, but most pro teams haven’t focused on him that much. While it is true that he is not the go-to option right now, he is one of the names that definitely deserves more attention.

Lycan is incredibly strong in the mid game, and he is famous for his pushing skills. Although some people think he is not dangerous outside of his ult, the hero can push and deal impressive damage even when not in his wolf form.
