Mastercard expands Riot Games partnership to cover LCS

Riot Games expanded its global partnership with Mastercard to include the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS).

The extended deal will begin with this weekend’s LCS Summer Split Finals in Detroit, with Mastercard helping sponsoring the opening ceremonies.

Ford launches Fordzilla to house national esports teams

American automobile manufacturer Ford launched the Fordzilla brand to house its first ever esports competitors.

The team will compete on Forza Motorsport 7 and other racing titles. It will be recruiting national teams for France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Misfits Gaming secures Call of Duty franchise spot

Misfits Gaming announced it had acquired the Florida slot in the upcoming Call of Duty franchised league.

The Miami-based esports organisation owns Florida Mayhem, a franchise in Activision Blizzard’s Overwatch League.

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment acquires Call of Duty franchise spot

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment also acquired a spot in the franchised Call of Duty league, securing a Los Angeles franchise.

This isn’t the first Los Angeles franchise spot in the league to be sold by Activision Blizzard however, with Immortals Gaming Club already owning a spot in the exact same city.
